Last Long Lingering Look at The L Word

Some of you have already seen the press release. Showtime has ordered a 6th and final season of The L Word!

First, let me just say how happy we are. I speak for my colleagues – actors, writers and producers – when I say that it means the world to us to have the opportunity to close this phase of the incredible journey we’ve all been on these past six years.

We’re not saying goodbye yet. We haven’t even wrapped up season five. We haven’t reconvened in the writer’s room and ranted and raved and debated and psychoanalyzed and snacked excessively on carrots and organic rice chips and pitched our hearts out for weeks on end. We haven’t packed up our dogs and our cars and our unruly, barely portable lives and trucked up to Vancouver for the long summer. There’s a lot of toil still ahead of us – a lot of storytelling, a lot of romance and, no doubt, some rancor and scads and scads of drama. We’re nowhere near goodbye.

Now is the time for you to let us know what you want – what you absolutely need to know before we’re through. If you read that press release, you know that Showtime has promised even more interactivity than in season five – during which we shot and incorporated a scene conceived by a fan, and delivered some wish fulfillment to a veritable nation of people known as Tibetters. We are in the process of figuring out exactly what form this interactive component will take. If you have any ideas, let us know. Hell, we can even be interactive about figuring out how to incorporate your interactivity. In any event, as soon as we come up with a format, it will be posted here on OurChart; and in the meantime, we’re listening, talking, taking it all in, probably thinking many of the same thoughts ourselves.

Thank you for helping to make season five such an incredible success for us. This triumphant sixth and final season is due in no small part to your watching The L Word in record numbers in 2008 and supporting the show with passionate involvement. I hope you enjoy the last two episodes of our penultimate installment, and stay with us on OurChart. The girls will be out – the L Word girls and many others – and we’ll be announcing some new projects and plans and making promises – lots of promises.

T&A NEEDS A VACA!!!

I dont care if they go to Timbuktu, just have them happy and in love!!! Ilene, have them stop fighting and start loving, they have the best love scenes on the show. Let them meet each other friends and family, just let them be happy!!!

Tasha and Alice

For season 6 I want them to be together. Happy Talice = Happy Me!!!

Talice 4 Eva!!!!

Some math

Happy Talice + Lots of loving= Happy Fans (I'll definitely be one of them!) Talice together and loving in Season 6!

My L-word wish - Bette on a Harley

Okay I'm going to describe one more thing I'd like to see on the L-word next year before my post gets buried. :) **That used to happen to me all the time in High School. I was always the shy, quiet one that got drowned out by the popular kids at parties.**

Anyhow, I would like to see Bette Porter in a white t-shirt, jeans, and a black leather jacket...smoking a cigarette and riding a Harley Davidson. Ha!! :)

really!

What a dyke image! love it

Bette on a Bike!!

Love it!! She has that internal power struggle going on all the time.. would be her making a statement for sure and eye candy galore... a super HOT idea!!!

Over???

OMG!!!
I can't believe it...
One of the best - if not the bet - tv shows i've ever seen...
I'm not happy about this because it feels like loosing
a friend... and this is even stranger... if it's just a tv show, how can this be??...the thing is that TLW as given and meant a lot to a lot of people around the world. We're almost The L Word movement.. lol... not only because it has great story lines and characters, but because it is an insite to a world that most of the times stays in the closet. I'm sure TLW has helped a lot of people, gay and straight, understanding more about themselves and about others.
Congratulations for doing that! You will be missed!
Elle

PS

i forgot to add... for me it'll be happier if shane ends up with carmen hehe.. that's just my opinion...

sharmen fan here...

WHY DO WE NEED HAPPY ENDING???

why do we want happy ending?

yes in real life there really is an unhappy or sad endings. but life also has ups and downs. you can change the ending whenever we want if you're willing to try... and everyone wants their own story ends happily. so as a human nature, we always do our best and strive to be happy.

shane for example is a type of person who's fond of being with different women and do not know how to commit herself. but she's willing to change. she tried commiting to someone but failed... that's the sad ending. and even sadder since she's starting to realize that she's not happy for being who she is anymore. but then since she is willing to change. then she can change that sad story to a happy ending right? so it's either he will try to win carmen back or will start with molly or find another person in her life... just to make her story happy...

:)

net tv

I am so sick of all my favorite TV shows going off the air.
Does L word have to end? Can't you just continue producing it
for Our Chart and have all the members pay a fee to belong the
Our Chart website and we can watch the show here....

Find ways to produce revenue other ways to keep the show going
on the net. It would be revolutionary you already have the support
of the fan base. I think you should look further into my idea.

L W dreamers

To all the "i want!","i would like"etc.......don't worry,L word is such a "bonanza"(sorry for my english, traduced with 'babylon')that Showtime will certainly air it again and again.

What if Alice gave a kiss to Dana in her glass box and she spits out the apple lump the bad witch gave her.(but alas Dana was burnt).
Poor Shane-Pinocchio who desperately want to become'human'and have feelings and be loved but mess up more and more and can't help 'poking' her nose(fingers)everywhere. One day she'll make it!
Kit who now owns an Italian restaurant put together Lady and the tramp(Bette and Tina ou vice-versa)with a dish of spaghetti.
Alice and Tasha could have a band "the AliceTashatsss".
Bambi-Jenny alone in her world with no family has found a new family(friends).
During O. cruise they would be eaten by the whale and live happily ever after in her belly.

Come on,life is not a fairy tale and we don't live in Disney's world so what if L W ends badly;why always want a happy end.Why should they get married or have someone in their life forever?
One more thing;have you seen what happened with'lost''4400'....it's"du n'importe quoi"due to greed of the media so better close LW before.
A BON ENTENDEUR SALUT!

TASHA & ALICE

you have got to keep them together & happy in season 6!! it would be the perfect way to show a stable couple, making it through all the ups and downs life throws at them! they are our poster couple!! we love them!! TALICE 4EVER!!!

100%

I agree with Mel, def keep them together, we get it already they have differences, but why not illustratre their similiarties? They prob have a passion for art together..who knows, but they are one of the best things going on right now, and stop having them fight and having them love each other like all relationships! Remember, there are alot of us in relationships who are monogmous, and actually WORK through our problems!

TALICE THEME SONG

here is the theme song that the talice fandom has adopted for our ladies! give it a listen IC!!

You know it Grey! We love

You know it Grey! We love Talice and love to show it!

One more season of this mind-blowing series - Thanks!!!

This is a huge amount of comments.
I'll pretend that, by chance, you'll read mine.
Once again I want to say that you have produced a great show. You and everybody involved, of course!
I'm at a phase in my life where i, more seriously, started to question my sexuality and so this show is helping me with all this mess i have inside.
Immediately, the show, grew on me. It's impossible not to enjoy it, gay or straight! I laugh, i feel sad, i get surprised, i get angry, i get excited...I've experienced all these feelings in one episode alone. It's amazing!
The cast...great performances! A basket of talents! Some of them i already knew from a movie or two and a few others were a really pleasant surprise!
I feel all excited every time i get to see a new episode and i still can't accept that it's all going to end. I knew it would, eventually, but that doesn't make me feel better about it. :p
I know it's fiction, but at the same time it doesn't feel like fiction. I believe that that's what's most important...The ability to make you feel something. Sometimes i got overwhelmed by the emotions coming from that screen, from those interpretations.
Throughout the all the seasons you've presented us with quite a few great stories about what it is to be a lesbian. Their worries, their lifestyle (the L.A one at least), their happiness, their craziness. They live just like everybody else! Sure there are some differences, but so what? Those differences don't make them lesser persons. Why the discrimination? Sorry, got a little carried away here.
I loved this season as well as the others. Each had it's own 'core cluster of life story telling' (I hope you can understand what i meant...I'm still improving my English).
The relationship plot that reached more to me was Tina and Bette's. Probably some of you might be mocking...'Look another Tibetter'. Well, i don't care. ;)
Tina/Laurel H. and Bette/Jennifer B. do it in a tastefully, delightfully, bewitching, powerful, talented way!! And i could go on, but i guess I've already, colourfully, illustrated my opinion. That is ONE of the reasons why I'm loving this 5th season so much. (I sure hope that they get together this season and stay together through season 6, but keep it exciting so they won't have to go looking for somebody else! ;)).
I would like that final season developed more around the original characters/cast. I can't say that i don't like who's joined the group since the 1st season, but i think it would be interesting to end it that way. To discover a bit more about their bonds, what binds that gang. Yet, spicing it all up and adding some of the fun we've been watching this season will help to make it a stunning and unbelievable last season.
I'll be coming back with, hopefully, some detailed suggestions for season 6.
Got to say it again...i just LOVE this show!!! (=
If there's a DVD collection I'm getting, this is it!!!
Beijos e abraços!!!! (meaning 'Kisses and Hugs')

Please please please

You have to get Margaret Cho on the show. Maybe she can come in and save the Planet from the Shebar bitches. Whatever the role, cameo, whatever, please please please get Margaret Cho!

I don't get it

Why Margaret Cho? I've seen her stand-up schticks on logo and I don't think she's all that great...the only line I can remember is "...my boyfriend's kind of a bitchy orange." There are so many other comedians/wild women to cast for cameos. Can you help me understand why you're so enthusiastic about her?
Lezbeth

Agreed.

I never understood the Cho fad myself. The stuff she says is merely for shock value; there's rarely any innovative, comedic essence to it all. I guess the grrls like her because she talks about her vag and experiments with her kind. *shrugs*

save the l word

Sesson 6 is the last season of L word... I think we deserve more than that. Please get the word out. We, meaning the lesbian community has never had a show so highly rated on prime time tv and might not have one for long time coming... so here is the info... you don't have to be part of it; but any little be helps...

No more closets…. GET THE WORD OUT!!! WE WILL SAVE THE L WORD
Check out tbelendamen channel on youtube.. select The L Word - Season 6... this give you info how we might save the L word and possibly get more seasons... This is the petition website there is petiion for show to be signed if you chose.

Los Angeles, CA. 90036

Do we know why?

Why is the 6th going to be the final season of the L Word? Surely it can't be a lack of interest or ratings. Everyone I know watches it! So, was it Showtime, was it the creative team feeling like they've run dry, or are the actresses just feeling like they want to move on? I mean, Marlee Matlin's already got her big gig on Dancing with the Stars (my partner was addicted before, now I'll never regain control of the remote!), so do the others have projects in the works? Anyone have ANY news? (I've been so burried at work I haven't been able to visit Ourchart much this winter. Sadness.)

~m

if l word is going to say goodbye, do it with a BANG!!

c",)!

i mean really!!....more dramarama!!! please keep the humor, i really like jenny being effortlessly funny! more bette and tina and please give kit something.....helena is back! i'm glad!, more air time for her coz she's ridiculosly stunning!!! and more group scenes, i really like watching all of them in one room...i don't know if i helped, but that's just me... more power to L word!!

i know I may be way off.

Am pretty sure she couldn't do it, but I would like to see
Marina Ferrer come back. But not just back.
Have Jenny start having dreams about her and thinking more about her. then Jenn talks to shane about it. Shane unknow to Jenn contacts Marina. Marina comes back makes plead to Jenn.
well anyway it is a idea, lol ( i have played the whole thing in my mind) lol.

I like it alot.

You sound like you put some thought in to it. I think it would be really cool for it to happen like that. Shane and Jenny are very close friends, and I know I would do it for mine. If nothing else would you be willing to tell your idea fully I would like to hear it please.

MOST IMPORTANTLY

Gosh I guess I have more S6 requests than I initially realized!

Anyway, Ilene and Co. - please please PLEASE make the 8 episodes as long as possible. If we can't get 12, can each episode be a full hour, or at least a premiere AND finale that are closer to two hours?

WE NEED MORE TIME!!!

Jenny and Niki

have to be back together for season 6.

Even the triumvirate vloggers over at Afterellen were raving about Jeniki - going so far as saying the Jeniki strap-on scene was "the best sex scene in the history of the show".

Please reunite them in the 6th season.

Niki could declare her love for Jenny by defying her agents, and risking her career by outing herself. That would be really sweet.

Still Hope for Jenniki in Season Six?

I like Ripple's idea of Nikki defying her agents and coming out/publically declaring her love for Jenny. Pretty impressive that there were comments over on Afterellen about the Jenny/Nikki strap-on scene being the best sex scene in the history of "The L Word". That is actually a pretty massive compliment, when you think about it.

Hmmm...should Nikki go on "Ellen" to promote her movie and then surprise everyone by coming out and declaring her love for Jenny? It would allow them to work in an Ellen appearance, which would certainly make a lot more sense than a lot of other celeb stunt appearance ideas being tossed around. (*cough* Paris *cough*)

Also her cheeseball agent and manager would have a collective stroke, so - Bonus Point!

shane & carmen

aiRyLiCkaSouResReX

Please please please incorporate sara shahi in the last season, even if its for a second!!! I love shane and carmen together, that was chemistry! And in episode 510 where straight girls ask shane if she has ever been in love and shane said she didn't think so... NOT COOL, we all know she really loved Carment... so again, let her make a camio in the last season. PLEASE!

It's really going to be hard to say goodbye...

I am hoping for a 2 hour finale since they've cut the episodes to 8. Most of all I hope that we see the direction the core characters are going in their lives.

I would love a Tibette wedding or commitment ceremony. Because of the long path it has taken for them to be back togehter, I would like something symbolic to show them for commited for life. Tina is the one that should propose this because she was the one who didn't want that. I am hoping she has changed her mind.

Anyway, thanks for L Word and the many stories you have told. I can't say I have liked them all, but I understand the reason for telling them.

Thanks for the awesome show!

I've loved all of it. Even when I hated it =). I hope season 6 will be as fun as season 5 has been. I've loved all of the group scenes between Shane, Alice and Tina. And the Jenny and Tina scenes have been so hysterical as well. I want Jenny to be happy next season, all of her romances end up turning into such shitfests. I think a Shenny romance would be adorable, they have a lot of chemistry together.

The L Word season 6

TiBette & Angie for ever
Bette
Tina
Kit
Helena & Dusty
Alice & Tasha
Jenny
Shane
Joyce
"The Gang"
Phyllips
Jodi
Peggy
More comedy and less drama.
Thank you so much Ilene & Crew, TLW is the best show ever!

Agree fully!

Def more comedy and less drama
longer epsisodes...a full hour this time!!
Talice and Tibette together and Shenny would be cute, even though I do like Sholly..but I have been wanting a Shenny since S2 :)

*sniffle*

....The end of The L Word?? .... I can't deal with this yet!

It's really sad to see it go

It's really sad to see it go but I'm glad at the same time cause I was really hoping for a season 6. Cant believe there is only gonna be 8 episodes though, nooooo! 12 isn't even enough. I’ve got a feeling that it's gonna end on a good one i.e. tibette together! And for the rest of the cast as well.

This season has really surprised me, so much better than season 4. I'm especially looking forward to seeing how this season ends, can’t wait.

RE: "If you have any ideas, let us know."

I Finally Get It

Because there is such a potential for The L Word to leave an everlasting mark on the culture, please, I beg of you, do not let the opportunity to show that lesbians, bisexuals, and transexuals are normal people with normal problems, BUT ARE ALSO NORMAL PEOPLE WITH THE CAPACITY FOR GREAT SUCCESS - personally, professionally, and relationship-wise - slip away.

As a formerly clueless straight woman who, I am embarassed to admit, never associated gay sex with love (pardon my former misguided "religious beliefs"), the show has been both entertaining and educational for me. There's such potential in the Bette and Tina storyline. They've grown as individuals, and don't you first have to be an independent, strong and secure individual in order to contribute to a healthy relationship? (I happen to think that much of Bette's supposed "type A" behavior stems from her father's non-acceptance of her relationship with Tina - and ultimately his grandchild - and her biracial background, where perhaps she never felt she was completely accepted by either community. She compensated by being an overachiever and controller, always trying to prove and reprove her worth as well as control that which she thought she could control. As with most of us, becoming a parent opened her up to a whole new emotional level, perhaps leading to self-acceptance and ultimately, personal peace. And Tina, since late Season 4, my how she's grown!)

As to methodology, why not have the professional staff of the L Word scan the Message Boards for fans who are articulate, sensitive and clever, and have proven they have a realistic grasp on character development? The professionals could then select a certain manageable number and invite them (via their e-mail addresses, which SHO.com does have) to submit storylines. Perhaps a winning team of fans could then be invited to participate in the eventual script development. This allows you to start the process immediately and is a fair way to include all the fans who have already taken the time to post meaningful and insightful messages.

Thank you for your generous offer to submit input. Keep up the good work!

Bette

Hi !
Bette is my favorite character and always will but there 's a few things i'd like to change or rather to see back.
In season 6, i'd like to see her laughing insted of crying all the time.
And i hope she'll get her alphaness back. Please !
That's why we loved her in the first place.

Of course, i'd like Bette to share more screen time with Tina.
Being in love with her, sharing everyday's life, etc...

And last but not least, i'd like to see Bette with longer hair. lol

Thanks for your wonderfull show and i have to say that i'm really really really sad since i know season 6 will be the last one.
What will i do without my friends from L.A. ??

Delph - Paris, France

ILENE ..

could you please start to maybe work on a L Word MOVIE, i am really going to need this for 2010.....and i sent my first black bra to showtime today, i am going to send 1 per day (i bought 10 )and when i run out i will send more..i think this is the link www.youtube.com/watch?v=5UVU7B7asv0 ...or videos bye Tibelendamen....we need to protest.....

carmen carmen carmen

Can I first say im devastated that it's goin 2 be over :( I would love to see carmne come back they were amazing and they could so atleast chase and miss each other like lost kizmit ya know and as far as mama t and mama b I agree it is like coming home its so right but jodi should stick around for s6 I mean come on tom just got happy w/max and they both deserve it we all love our gay boi's and max hah but on the helena note I really wanna see wut happened with her and dusty even if it some flash like the fade out of tasha and alice befor tasha almost keft but it could be dusty & helena on a beach just like they talked about ya that would be great ! And I duno why everyone is so crzy about jenny this season can we all remember she is freakin crazy and not to mention deliusional about niki we can all see she is a confused younger version of jenny in season 2 maybe its just me but I could see jenny loose it again and go scampering back to where ever she came from ! But I can't stress how much carmen and shane need that last chance but not just for a episode or 2 I wanna see her close out and I love the focus on dana for the pink ride but really she was owed after the girls couldn't eveb murmer her name last season she should really get some attrntion to so there my sense but again my votes 4 jenny and niki r out bette and tina are in and carmen no matter wut !!!! We love you and the writters and cast and thabks for affecting us like u'll never know !!!! And I also vote for a spin off that would be amazing a lot to ask 4 but amazing and we would all follow it ! A loyal L word lover !

to end or not to end

as i ponder the implications of an end to the L. i think maybe other than a tibette wedding ( which is another beginning) there should be no end to any story,
leave it hanging..
life always leaves you hanging...
let these characters ( and cast ) continue to grow ,love,
learn,achieve,and overcome whatever may come.....

Go Sholly ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !

Its nice to see that Shane smiles a lot when she's with molly this season and she looks very happy with her
and they really got that chemistry going on
Shane's never smiled this much in any season and i love to see her beautiful smile! of course a lot of kate's fan wanna see it too
i wish Clementine was in the episode of this season sooner
come on IC give a chance to Shane for a happy ending with Molly
Go Sholly!!!
Go Sholly for season six!!!

editor

Re: Go Sholly

I dunno, I kind of like "Mane."

Jenniki ALL THE WAY for season 6.

Mia and Kate (French)'s amazing chemistry is the BEST thing in Season 5. A surprise that hit me so hard i can't focus on anything else!! Please let Jenniki make it through in Season 6 okay?? Thanks Ilene! :D

What I Want to See

I want to see what happened between Helena and Dusty. i thought Dusty was gonna be cool cuz she obviously had a dark and troubled past which always makes for a good story. I want Carmen to come back but not necessarily to Shane, I want Sharmen to be resolved and have them know that the other is happy. I really want Shane to be happy. Alice and Tasha MUST stay together. Alice has been through so much, first Gabby:(, then Lesbian Man Lisa:(, then Dana:), then Dana dying:(. She deserves to be happy. Jenny just needs to keep being crazy. i love it. As for Bette and Tina, I didn't want them back together in the first place so now i could careless what happens to them i just hope that Jodi will stay with the show because she's cool. Kit needs something better to do then sit around at the planet. And Max is good I would just like to know what is going through his head cuz I'm not sure.

Alice: She touches you here and you feel it...here... you touch her anywhere and you feel it everywhere.

For Season Six

Hey all! *waves to everyone*

Okay so this is my very first post here so be gentle with me. For season six, I'd love to see...

Dylan and Helena. I just loved the chemistry b/w Dylan and Helena (can you say, "smokin' hawt"???) and the payoff was less than satisfying. Sure, Dylan did the right thing in the end but I guess I'm just a happy ending kinda gal, ya know? I'd like it if each could come to terms with what happened and grow from it together. And did I mention their smokin' hawt chemistry? And hey, even Alex Hedison in a recent answer to a fan question on her site stated that she hoped "that Helena's storyline with Dylan is continued at some point down the line." If this truly is IT for TLW, then I'll have some closure for this story pretty please with a cherry on top.

Shane and Jenny. I'm extremely new to this fandom (actually I just did a marathon watching of all the seasons so I could catch up). Two things fascinated me about the ever quirky Jenny. Firstly, my fiery hatred for all things Jenny Schecter became a deep-seeded (yet sometimes baffled and frustrated) adoration after seeing how she started out with Tim and Marina. She's had quite the rollercoaster of an emotional journey in these few short years; and although I hated how she used Lindsey and don't care for her when she's completely egocentric, I adore her when she's broken and dismantled...when her world is shaken to its core. May I add here as an aside that Mia Kirshner totally ROCKS.

Along these lines though is the fact that I am completely mesmerized by every scene she has with Shane. This relationship with Shane by the way is the second thing that fascinated me about Jenny. Looking back at the series premiere and witnessing the naive newcomer meet the bedhopping chartjammer, I'd love to see things culminate into them ending up together in the long run. Why? Because regardless of the speedbumps along the way, their connection with each other is probably each one's healthiest relationship ever as neither would put up with the other's crap and they each appreciate and love the other unreservedly...which is a first and only for both when you really think about it.

Dana. I don't know how...but somehow please. Dana. Heck, I'd even go for a startling Dana look-alike a la name-any-soap opera. Sure it's a cliche...but geez...

Bette/Tina. Duh. This screams for a full circle kinda thing. The only thing I don't like is that Jodi will get hurt and I really like her...but we're talking about Bette and Tina, for cryin' out loud.

*reads through the above novel*

Wow...well, at least I kept my comments pithy, eh? ;)

Thanks for giving me a spot to opine!

please, no!

Please, don't ever think about Jenny and Shane as a couple! Thy're best friends, they understand each other, but as Shane says in 510, "just because you could, doesn't mean you should" or something like that. Anyway you described them as perfect friends. Not all perfect friends should become lovers and in this case it would be too weird for me. Plus, I love Shane with Molly right now.

I always took Shane's 'just

I always took Shane's 'just because you can doesn't mean you should' comment as a very powerful anvil that Shane has always known that she's wanted Jenny and, in fact, could have had her on many different occasions. And yet, in all this time, she's never made that move, never attempted to take that one last, essential step over that very evident line, because she loves and is so very in love with Jenny that she doesn't want to destroy what they have together and she doesn't want to hurt Jenny. Even though Shane says that she doesn't think she's ever been in love, I think she knows, deep down, that the truth is right there in front of her and has been all this time - it's just that the connection between herself and Jenny is so strong and the understanding and love between them is so perfect and unconditional it terrifies Shane to even contemplate hoping for it.

The one thing Shane wants most and, at the same time, the one thing she's most afraid of, is to find the one person who will accept her and trust her and love her for who she is. And the reason it scares her so badly is because if someone else feels those things about her and loves her even with all of her flaws and through all of the mistakes she's made, then she'll have to start loving herself and forgiving herself for all the flaws and mistakes and that's something that digs right into the heart of Shane's problems and goes straight to the source. Shane's entire worldview revolves around the fact that she considers herself unworthy and unloveable and undeserving of love and happiness and Jenny feels just the same way. I think that, of all of the relationships this show has ever featured, these two make the most sense for exactly that reason. No one else understands the two of them as well as they understand each other and no one will ever love them unconditionally and completely the way they love each other. They are two halves of a beautiful, damaged whole.

you may be right

You may be right, but if TLW ends with J and S together, I would be very disappointed. I like them as friends. I don't want to see romance between the two. They can love one another even more deeply without putting sex in the whole thing.

I'd be very disappointed if

I'd be very disappointed if they didn't have Shane and Jenny get together, because the thing is, Ilene has been working towards them being together ever since the beginning. She's pushed them a bit closer towards that each and every season. It wouldn't make any sense (not to mention it would be a tremendous waste!) if she suddenly veered away from it just because people think Niki's hot or think Shane smiles more when she's with Molly. This has been five years in the making and it would be very disappointing to myself and all the other Shennys if she chickened out now.

Everyone always says that 'oh, well, they're such good friends and I don't want to see it ruined' but they don't ever consider the fact that these two don't act like friends. They act more like a couple than Tina and Bette even do - holding hands, always touching each other and staying close to each other's sides, in addition to always looking out for and supporting each other, no matter what. The physical signs just are not 'sisterly' or 'just-friend'-y behavior, otherwise we'd see Shane doing it with everyone else, too. In Shane's eyes, Jenny is special and the very fact that she hasn't just dragged her into bed should be proof enough of her respect and reverence for her. If things don't go that one step further into the romantic/sexual realm, I would feel horribly cheated, because it would be Ilene denying both of them what they've always wanted: a relationship, a partnership with someone who loves them unconditionally, flaws and all. In my opinion, if you're a fan of Shane and a fan of Jenny, you should want the two of them together because they're so close and so good for each other. They're the best couple on the show and they haven't even happened yet!

Ilene, for sure you guys

"delivered some wish fulfillment to a veritable nation of people known as..."

A great line in 509 elevator scene -- Bette to Tina: For me... (lovely smile)... feels like I'm coming home -- that was absolutely beautiful but for me, i truly feel the character, Jodi, you guys created is one dark horse of a winner! hope she'll stick around for S6. Eight episodes only?! how 'bout two hours each?

And, plz don't forget to bring back Carmen ;-)
