Glamour, Glitz and Gay Rights: A Night at the GLAAD Media Awards.
Jennifer Beals, Laurel Holloman and Ilene Chaiken, longtime supporters of the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation, looked fabulous for the organization's 19th Annual Media Awards this past Saturday night. OurChart.com caught up with Jennifer and Ilene on the red carpet outside the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood before joining Laurel inside for the festivities. We also spoke with Rufus Wainwright and Janet Jackson—the evening's big honorees. Here's a peek at all the buzz as people were making their grand entrance to the show.

Yes, looks like the coverage is part of their CBS News Special Report: GLAAD Media Awards at that time on Saturday. I think Bravo is broadcasting the entire awards show on June 27th.
The San Francisco Awards are still upcoming on May, 10, 2008.

Wow! I'm so sorry my oversight has caused such genuine grief. First off, I'd like to explain that my posts are usually intended to set up the video and video only. Since I work mostly with film-- editing, directing-- I like to leave the actual reporting to our very talented writers on the site. At any rate, since Laurel wasn't in the video, I didn't want to get people's hopes up about her appearing in it by writing her name in the post.
Secondly, a note about Laurel. She is wonderful person whom I've known for many years, and yes, you are all correct, she is also a longtime supporter of GLAAD. The night was made better by her presence and it's a shame she couldn't appear in the video.

Thank you Gigi. You are very gracious and you are right to include Laurel's name in the intro and to let the community know who may not be aware that she has been a long time supporter of Glaad, an organization that has done so much good for all of us who aren 't heterosexual to be visible and be represented.
Thank you for taking the time to update your post. I saw the omission as unintentional on your and OC's part as I saw the request to you a reasonable one.
For those who may not know, Laurel, in addition to being a fine actress is a very socially conscious one. In addition to being a passionate supporter of Glaad, she was also on the picket line for the writers when they were on strike. She also supports and has lent her name to worthy causes such as Doctor's Without Borders and many of her fans have followed suit and have made donations on behalf of Laurel. With a recent large surge in those donations to support this humanitarian effort worldwide in honor of her upcoming birthday.

The plight of the Sudanese is something that is particularly close to Laurel Holloman’s heart and when we decided that the site would support a particular charity it was specifically this cause that Laurel wanted us to support. Thanks for correcting the oversight, that was VERY considerate of you. Laurel does have a big fan base, and should be recognized for her contributions. Too bad she didn't get on the video though. I would like to think LH is not angry at the outcry, but pleased that we her fans are watching out for her. I would have done the same for JB with no hesitation about it.
