June 30, 2008 - 9:53pm — idontlikeusernameOk so I was wondering how you know when a girl is flirting with you when she is talking to you. Do you tell if she is flirting by the type of questions she asks you or is it more of her gesture?
I am so bad at noticing when a person is flirting with me or just being friendly... And what kind of questions would be considered flirting? Smiling alot?
What are the signs people? :)

I never really know either. Its obvious with a guy but not so much a girl. Girls are naturally more touchy feely and huggy etc.I totally agree with the whole vibe thing, you kinda just feel it. For me the best signs are when she look into your eyes that little bit too long and that certain smile (you know what I mean) and when you see her lookin at you when they think you're not looking.

Hmm. In my opinion, I think flirting between two girls is very distinct. I tend to notice it right away. But, a previous poster nailed it right on -- there's just a 'vibe'. I couldn't go into enough extensive detail, but definitely look for these signs, if anything:
1. Teasing/Playful Taunting.
2. Complimenting.
3. Extra eye contact.
4. That cerain smile.
5. Trying to find a means of contacting, seeing or getting closer to you.
6. Sneaking physical contact (accidentally brushing your arm, excess hugs, etc.)
7. Hmm...? Alas, I cannot think of anything else.

There's a girl in my art class doing all of those signs to me (she also makes side glances at me when she thinks I'm not looking). Does this mean that she's flirting with me? The problem is... my girlfriend is also at that art class!!!

ive gotten all those things from a straight girl, too...so they dont work all the time i dont think....maybe some girls are just very touchy-feely. i know gay girls, on the other hand, who dont touch anyone. so i guess it depends on the person. also drinking can make people seem like they're flirting when they're not.

i was walkin to meet my friends and our new neighbour has this puppy and she smiled at me and i smiled back but i didnt get a vibe i think she just tried to be friendly. but thers times where i really feel a bit more engery with the girl like intense eye contact or something. like one girl was flirtin with me and kept staing and smiling she even said a stupid joke and laughed at her own joke hha

I'm the wrong person to answer this. I can notice when a guy is flirting to me, but not when a girl is. And apparently I am a flirty person, because when I talk to some people I smile alot and have a certain look in my eyes. This is what I've been told. Judging from myself, I can't
Judging from myself, I can't tell when someone is flirty... Personally when I like someone as a character and I feel comfortable (no matter how long I know the person, even 5 minutes...) I do compliments and "sexual" comments (not hrsh ones, but funny mostly)... Of course most of the times it's for fun, I mean the compliments of course, but I don't intend to seduce the other person... So I am quite cautious with other people's compliments because I never know that people are different and when you don't know the other's character you may take a friendly gesture (hug for example) as a flirty gesture...

I think there's a line
I think there's a line between just friendly and very flirty - from my experience, I've always been able to tell if someone's flirty by how much eye contact they give me. and if they make an effort to touch your arm or anything like that - definitely flirting.
