Do ya think while you are in Oakland you can check on my girl....she's in San Leandro and broke her collar bone helping her Dad last month...J/K...about checking in on her. Good idea to go see the sites while you are there.....I so miss the "Gay Bay"

summer vacationing
Anyone have any fabulous plans for the summer? I'm moving later this month, and starting a new job in the fall, so no major plans, but The New Girlfriend and I just got back from Bethel Woods, the concert venue at the old Woodstock site, where we saw the Doobie Brothers and Chicago (okay, so we're definitely over 40!). And we stayed at a gorgeous B&B on a bluff overlooking the Upper Delaware River...definitely gotta go back there for the fall colors...

Woodstock!...the Doobie Brothers, Chicago...You took me back, Susan...(I was a little young for Woodstock, but I certainly grew up with all that great music!)
I had to use all my vacation for this recent surgery, so no plans for me. It's been nice being away from work tho.

No major plans here either, just a couple of weekends. One in Montreal at a sweet B&B in the gay village, and the other at a park that's sounds like Labinky(I've never been there but I have high hopes!!).

L Word on Logo
Hey everybody! Does anyone else get Logo? Do you know they are starting to air the L Word tonight? The first show, first season is on at 10pm ET (it's 7pm here on the West Coast). YAY! Any body else going to watch?
BTW, the fires around here are so bad, everybody here is being encouraged to stay in the house, no exertion...air quality is off the charts. Outside, it's almost like a campfire blowing your way, but you can't step around it to get up wind. The sun is out, but we haven't seen it for 3 days. It's not as bad as the floods, I'm sure but SHEESH. I keep thinking the evangelicals around here are going to start blaming these wild fires on the same sex marriage thing. What do you bet?

I have one too, actually (for working with chemicals when I mix glazes/clay, etc. Those fine powders reek havoc on the lungs). I wouldn't wear it inside, it'd scare the hell out of the bird. The only thing I REALLY need to do outside is walk my dog (poor baby, she's bored to tears). I don't want her breathing this stuff either and don't have a respirator to fit her. I can just picture it though and may want to draw a cartoon. In the meantime, the wind has shifted some and we've had a couple of periods where it's safe to breathe.
How are you doing? I've missed your cheerful presence.

Doing well, thank you - missed you also! I am resting, eating, sleeping, mending, relaxing - learning to live the life of a "normal" human again! I'm actually not very good at it - it's a challenge. The wanderlust will set in pretty soon - then I'll take off to CO to see the son and recharge - hopefully write - so looking forward to it. Got lots of pent up thoughts that need to be penned!

I bet it will be hard to settle into a normal life, whatever the hell that is. A trip to CO would be great. I'm sure you saw a lot of things that have you hankering for a pen. I'd be interested in what you have to say, so if you put something on a blog, let us know, okay?
BTW, those shifting winds. Damn, they shifted again. Well, at least I know it can clear up for a day or an afternoon. In the meantime, my pets and I are huddled around our air purifier.
