They were filming a scene today in an art gallery, which had been renamed the Kelly Wentworth Gallery. It was a scene with Bette and Jodi having an argument. There was also a separate scene with Laurel Holloman with a bunch of extras (gallery patrons, I guess).
As the final season of The L Word began filming, Showtime announced there is an L Word Spin off in development by creator Ilene Chaiken.
The new show will follow one of the series' current characters, and its storyline will most likely be introduced during the series' final season, with the finale leaving the door open for the Spin off There is no title yet.
L-word.com sources says the show will first be aired only online. It is not certain that it will air on television. Showtime President Robert Greenblatt wouldn't say which character would be spun off, though he added that the actress in question doesn't even know about the possible series yet.
Sources speculated who the possible Spin off might be centered around. This is what we received:

I just read last night that Lauren Lee Smith is joining the cast of CSI this coming season. She is supposed to be taking over for Sara . Sorry she won,t be on The L Word.....but we can still see her on tv. Well, it's already confirmed that Lauren Lee Smith will join the graveyard shift in CSI:Las Vegas. To me, this is a very good step fro LLS because CSI is a well-known and highly-appreciated series. This time, I think, she will be given a big role unlike in the L-word wherein she was really just a minor character eventhough she actually was the love in Dana's life for most of the time. I'm really very excited about CSI 9. Imagine our beloved sous-chef processing dead human bodies instead of chickens!Cool!
On the negative side, of course we may conclude that with her addition to CSI, she won't be coming back for the final season of the L-Word. But we could only hope that Miss Ilene would at least give us a glimpse of Lara in the final episode of the final season. For me, she was really a charm in the series.

First of all, I also hate writing and reading about Dana's death. Even after 2 seasons of her not being on the show, I still could not get over it. Hmmm, when you said a hint of Lara, does that mean if ever, you want Lauren's character in CSI to be gay? I admit, I would want that! I think there's no gay lead character on any of the CSI franchise (LV, Miami and NY). Well of course CSI is not actually a series of "relationships". But still, like you said, I also want to see a "splash" of Lara in CSI.

I would also want to see her character grow up. I mean in her guest appearances in seasons 1-3, there was certainly no development on her character. She was just there to make us 'awwww' with cuteness (especially when she's with Dana)! The whole alice/dana thing, was more of "friends with benefits (well, sexual benefits to be exact)". But if ever Lara would be back in season 6, I would still love her to somewhat have a friendly connection with alice.

Wow this is the end of an excellent show. What would I like to see? Shane needs a reality check on how to treat a woman and commit to one . Hurting Jenny like that last season was really an eye opener her to how messed up Shane really is on the show. It obviously doesn't work having Shane stay away from women so bring Carmen back to help Shane get it together.
Jenny she actually needs someone stable in her life to keep her from getting totally weird and spacey. Helena hum find her a decent woman...Alice listens to her maybe they would balance each other out and have Dana pop back in to remind Alice to let herself be happy .
