Hopefully she wont be the spin off "lead". They can bring any body they want in the show as long as that new person doesn't interfere in TiBette's relationship.
JB breaking character
I am not sure if my subject is the right way to say it. But I am asking if there are moments in the show during these five seasons that Jennifer stopped being Bette and was just herself; no matter how brief the moment. [Now I know what some of you ladies will answer, but I am trying to be serious here. :) ] For example, S1 the "you are so boring" episode during the party on the ship.... Bette does a shot and then sucks on a lime.... Jennifer reacts to the sourness and shutters AND Laurel giggles.
Anyone else spot a moment when we see Jennifer and not Bette?
i got a few
1)In season one when the girls are at the planet after Tina & Bette went to go see the french artist/doner they are all sitting and laughing about ze penis, ze pussy ze baby. JB said something to Leisha and they all cracked up it is on the dvd commentary.
2) In season 5 JB throws one of Angies toy boweling pins at Alice.
3) In season 2 land ahoy episode Bette is telling her father about kit turning the planet into a swanky night club.
4) in season 1 when Bette moved her father in her house Bette seds for some family photo's i think they were pic's of her when she was younger along with her mom and dad. Her mom is irish with red hair and if you really look at the pic's there are a few of them with a white woman with red hair holding and watching a child. I do not know just a thought. If one has read her bio in flashdance she put her fathers full name and her birth date on her application to the Pittsburgh school of dance. But, then again she has moere experience now as an actress. whadya think?

In the very last episode of S5 in the scene where Bette and Tina are dancing, JB does this thing. Right after Tina takes Bette to the dance floor and right before they come together to dance, JB gives Laurel this look and tilts her head. To me it said, "I've loved doing this show with you."
In S4 I heard that the basketball scene had a lot of adlibs. I am pretty sure that JB adlibed her response to Papi's brown Barbi comment.

You guys, I think Adlibs......
are different than moments of being yourself and not IN the character fully. Ilene always says that she allows them to do a certain amout of their own thing "within their character". So trowing the toy, things like that would be part of the scene, not actually written but something they feel fits and flows with what they're doing as the character. That's different than responding to something as yourself and not your character....get my drift?

I agree that adlibs are different than breaking character. I just thought that I would get a better response to my topic than I did. I guess I had to compete with Elizabeth Berkley today.
In season three
At the wedding when Carmen gives her gift of the "rappers". JB is totally laughing and embarrassed as are some of the others...I think she and they are just being themselves in that scene.

Thanks, you are so right. I forgot about that one. I think that all the girls were responding pretty much as themselves. IC has said before that when they have musical guests that the girls often forget to act. I think I remember Leisha or Kate saying about S5's party scene that they nearly forgot they were filming.

"The L Word" Will Continue Online and in a Possible Spin-off

Last Friday at the Television Critics Association press tour in Los Angeles, Showtime entertainment president Robert Greenblatt announced that a spin-off of The L Word is currently in development with series creator Ilene Chaiken. When pressed for further details about the spin-off, which will star "one of the girls from The L Word as a sort of crossover," Greenblatt told AfterEllen.com that story lines for the show have been discussed, but "we're trying to keep it very quiet. We just don't have all the casting done yet."
The spin-off will be filmed "in the fall," Greenblatt said, "right alongside of this season, when we shoot this next season."

The next season, which will air on Showtime in early 2009, will be The L Word's sixth and final season. Greenblatt said to AfterEllen.com: "It's going to be an amazing season because there's a big mystery element to the show in the final year, and then it's going to continue online to a large extent."
Networks such as Sci Fi have incorporated web series into their televised series before — for example in Battlestar Galactica — but concluding a TV show with an "open-ended component" that then is continued in a network-produced online series has never been done before.
Greenblatt said the web series is "still forming" and "That will happen later in the process after the show's on the air." It will likely air on Ourchart, but "there may be some other internet places for it to go."
Few details about the upcoming final season, which is currently shooting in Vancouver, have been released, but actors Anne Archer (who played Alice Pieszecki's mother in three Season 1 episodes) and Camryn Manheim (who played studio exec Veronica Bloom in Season 2), both confirmed they haven't been asked to return for Season 6 but would welcome the opportunity.

It's very confusing. At first I thought it was a better explanation, but now after reading it a few more times, I'm more confused than ever. Maybe I shouldn't have posted this. I'm sorry to get you guys more confused than you already were. The thing I focused on was that it would probably be aired here one OC.....Anyway......take it with a grain of salt as the rest, I guess. Maybe at some point we can make some sense of all of this. Let's look at more pictures! Who's got good ones?

this is what I understand it to be saying...
The spin off will be filmed along with season 6...they are still choosing actors. Season 6 will be aired there will be a mystery and story lines will be left open it will continue online at ourchart and if it is popular Showtime will pick it up. Now only one actress will continue in the spinoff as a carry over to the spin off.
Now in my mind if they keep parts open ended in the lword that give an opportunity for movies at some point.
Now the mystery part is what concerns me...will it include a murder and if it does who will it be...I am thinking Tibette is going to be part of the mystery...and I think the only pheasible person to carry over would be JB. this comes from her involvment in the V stories.
My thought is this...if showtime is responding to this becasue of the fan base which is obvious that all of this has motivated this action why not just another season..and if not why????
Maybe this is all publicty hype to get us all worked up I don't know but it just seems a bit confusing....so I guess we are stuck jsut waiting...As I said earlier.....it sounds like oc will be getting bigger and more involved and that is good. Gonna really really miss the tibette story line...Maybe they will be the crossover which would make sense but I hear MGM has offered some roles for LUH....so who knows....lots of rumors....to keep us busy by..
