I say keep L Word on and to hell with the spin off! Sheesh do I have to always be the one with the good ideas lmfao! It is such a waste of time to have a spin off when we already have a very successful program. Is Showtime really that stupid?

The fans signed 25,100 petitions to save the L word,not to have Bob greenblatt decide that there will be a spin off with 1 of the characters from the show. Most fans want to see Tina and Bette if they are not included in the spin off I will not watch.Ilene is smart she knows what the fans want, she can make Tibette work in a spin off.Why can't there be more than 1 original cast member in the spin off.

Jenny basically annoys the shit out of everyone; therefore, it would be ratings-suicide to make a show out of her whining.

Shane is obnoxiously promiscuous and doesn't do relationships, so what emotional ride would she bring to the show? None.

Kit is...straight. Hmmm. Don't think that would work.

Alice would be a perfect character to continue from, but Leisha Hailey looks like she might have other plans concerning her musical career after the final season.

Max is hardly even a character now, so that's unlikely [although I'd love a tran spin-off, I think it's well overdue].

Helena's off with her frightening tax fraud cell mate in Cancun or somewhere.

Bette and Tina are kind of a package deal, and only one star is returning. Tibetters will raise hell if that relationship ends.

So who's left? Hmm...I think Ilene Chaiken is gonna be the spin-off character.

That's my theory, and I'm stickin' to it.

re. the whole spin-off frenzy, while I will miss seeing the core characters we have grown to love and love hating, I am thankful that our stories will continue to be told and that we will not be rendered invisible once again after the L Word series finale. The LGBT community has gained some momentum (though much work still remains to be done) and I would hate to see that slip away.

I want JB too, BUT we can't have JB without LH. Tibette would be a great spinoff, but I don't think IC would do that. I watched an interview with LH talking about the last season of TLW and she was saying it had to end because no on wants to watch Bette and Tina go to work, come home and take care of Angie everyday. . . However, I disagree! I totally would watch that. And besides, there are a lot of great storylines that could go with these characters and raising their child.

If not Tibette, then Alice. BUT former cast members have to make guest appearances so that we can check up on the girls. Lol.

And she's the only character who hasn't really grown much. She's stunted, so there's lots of room for transformation.

I want Bette--but in a new city like New Orleans. I could see Bette relocating to build a museum to honor the flood victims. Would be a situation where some real-life good could come out of shining a positive light on the rebirth of the city--instead of just highlighting the crime, like that recent cop show. I'm sure that show did nothing for Nola's tourism.

Bette's such a great character--she's like Erica Kane on "All My Children." The perfect match of a great character and a great actor doesn't come along too often for women, so you don't like to see them jet off into the sunset so quickly. Erica's been entertaining folks for almost 4 generations, so surely Bette could last through a spin-off.

I do understand the need for spin-offs to go in a completely different direction to attract new viewers, though, in addition to the old. Sort of like "The Jeffersons" spinning off from "Archie Bunker." But, Norman Lear is a legend unto himself.

Whatever they do, I hope it's nothing "small town." I think part of the recent rocket-ship phenomenon of the popularity of girl/girl sexuality, is due to the whole glamor factor of the "L Word," in part. I think the move is to just wait for the more ignorant parts of the country to catch up, rather than highlight the archaic ignorance.

I would like to see the spin-off leave LA, or the Hollywood vibe, at the very least.

The L Word was about Jenny. The show seems to chronicle her life, with the girls becoming peripherally engrossed and tied to her actions.

Jenny was always our window into their world...

For those freaking out about Elisabeth Berkley turning up - worry not - yet anyway. She is the girl who got away doesn't mean she is the girl thatis still wanted. Who knows, she might be Max's gal. She might still be straight. She might turn up as a window in Bette's college world. So many potentials, so little to do with Bette and Tina splitting, or Bette eating out.

Call me biased, I do think with somewhat of a Moennig'd mind when it comes to the L..The chronicles of a reformed lesbian pimp...Something of that nature;-) I am totally for a shane series if she HAS grown and moved beyond a season 1 reversion of the character. Whatever/whomever the spin off is related to I just want the characters to get "closure". I want to feel good about the ending of this great series. I wouldn't want any character left far to open that if showtime DOESN'T sign them on that the story is never closed. With the fact a lot of Shane's story doesn't get proper closure- it makes this Kate Fan a bit nervous.

I am biased towards Kate, but I am inclined to watch any of the actresses to see what comes of it. They are all talented. What I never understand is why at current people have to slam individual actresses on message boards to plug their favorite character or idea for the spin off. I think all of the CORE people on the L have provided value to the show. Everyone stands on their own as an actress and stands on their own in the creation of a written character. I hate to read all the negativity on boards when it comes to individual actresses.

I support whichEVER one lands the role, TAKES IT, and hope to see it succeed. They are all deserving, but yes I am Biased;-)

ALICE: What about Alice, on TV, becoming a super pioneer for gay artists, whether it be music, performance, media, what the truck ever...I do think the spin off would be a bit less serious. Although I enjoy intense, maybe just maybe, the straight world wouldnt call the L word, or even lesbian programing, a wash of bitter dykes, if they were exposed to the warmth and humor we live our lives exposing.

JENNY:I do not know If I could watch an entire show based on Jenny, the old Jenny perhaps, but not the new Jenny who is completely in her brain...

TASHA:...The black lesbian scene...the gay boys have Noah's Arc, which has been made into a movie, why can't us girls, see another facet within our minor yet life encompasing scope. The show could focus on the military, maybe Tasha decides to fight the power, and enlists Jenny to help her write a book, or makes a documentary of others discharged.

BETTE & TINA: I have grown to love the Tina and Bette Arc, however, those girls should be put to bed. Its been 13 years for those two. Fish or cut bait. Us viewers have gone through so much with those two, it needs to be put to rest, either they are apart and totally separated, or together and despite it all come home to eachother. They need to solidify something for Angie, whether it be their permanent separation or an eternal partnership.

SHANE: I just don't know, becayse unless she is with Carmen I don't think viewers will be happy, Paige or Molly, they just don't cut it...If the spin comes for Shane, its gotta involve Carmen, but maybe Carmen is with someone, or maybe Shane is with Molly again, but once again that would be an entire show of Cat and Mouse, it would be like a lesbian Felicity, god I did love that show.

MAX: A Trans show, Max, I really dig Max. I guess behind it all I find Daniela Sea quite inspiring, an all around brave individual. The Max story though, I just don't know if TV is ready for that. I just can't answer this one.

I also feel like they may kill Shane off this next season, I could be so very wrong, but if she loses all her friends due to her escapades with Nikki, she could drop out again and start using, eventually killing her.

Whatever, perhaps are am speculating far too much.
