Elizabeth Berkley Joins 'The L Word'

Yes, it's true! Elizabeth Berkley will be joining us in Season 6 of The L Word. You've all read what the "sources" have to say — how she'll be playing the straight girl that got away from Bette in college. And yes, we're so excited, we're so excited...
Well, I picked up Grace Moon's bat phone and dialed the source herself, Ilene Chaiken, to get a few more deets. Unfortunately, she's trying to keep this storyline under wraps like Jesse Spano's nasty little caffeine pill habit.
So, only one question remains: If The L Word ladies were re-cast in Saved By The Bell: The Lesbian Years, who would play whom? I’d personally cast Bette as Zack Morris and Phyllis as Mr. Belding. Who would make a good A.C. Slater? Shane? Thoughts anyone?

DRAMA!
TLW is a drama - gotta have some drama on the drama, ladies! Elizabeth and Jennifer are friends - let them have some professional fun together again on TLW before it closes.
To the Bette and Tina issue - they tend to be at their bests when they are somewhat jealous - let's let it play out. We've got six episodes of Bette and Tina sex and drama left - it'll be wonderful - no matter what Ilene decides to do with it. Personally, I want Elizabeth to be the person that bought the Kiki Smith "Fawn" print and she brings it back to Bette.......yes mam, get that print back and put Tina on her toes - double yes for that!
Besides, some of these comments are getting downright tacky - there is no need for that. Elizabeth is a working actress who has landed a pretty good gig - let's don't judge her before we see her. If she does read OC, this will be her first mention - let's be cool!

Kiki Smith "Fawn" print. I would love for Tiina to locate that and give it to Bette herself. I think you sound like you are trying to be objective and fair. However, I don't have a very high opinion about EB as an actress from the very little I have seen.
I realy, truly, don't want anyone messing with Tibette for the final season. I am sure there are places for EB, but I am very nervous about her taking a role that has a past with Bette. It's really just a more than a tad annoying that Bette has a family history, friends, from the past and Tina has never had anyone except Eric.
I think Tibetters have a great distrust considering their past disappointments.

Hmm, I agree, let's keep B&T's relationship dull...and in the happy ending style all through out the last season. Let's just see them slip in and out of bed night and day - it would be easy for the actors to know exactly where on the set to go and what to do - shit they could shoot their season all in a few days wrap. and they can use the same same simple lines... for each script, and easy to remember too

If you knew anything about me and OC
you would know that my one and only wish for Season Six was that Tina get back the "Fawn" print for Bette - my only wish! First made way back at the first of the year! I don't care if Paris Hilton brings it back - I just want that print back to Bette!
Objective and fair? Yes, I am. Your statement above - "I don't have a very high opinion about Elizabeth as an actress from the very little I have seen" says it all. There really is nothing wrong with giving someone a chance here - nothing. The woman is Jennifer's friend - that should be enough for all the TiBetters in the world. Goodness, don't attack the woman on a personal level. When you attack her, insult her, you're insulting Jennifer's opinion. Jennifer has a lot to do and say with people that come and go on TLW - whether on screen or off. I, for one, am not going to quesiton her or Ilene for this actor selection or whatever story line she is in.
Bottom line - bitch and gripe all you want about the Bette and Tina situation - but don't get so caught up in the fictional drama that you lose site of the real importance here - TLW is here, its on, its spin-off, its support of us, its bringing our issues to the forefront of political issues, OC.......it really bothers me that it is so easy for some to attack here. Amazing, simply amazing.

I didn't attack EB on a personal level. Her acting has nothing to do with her friendship with Jennifer. I said I didn't think, from what I have seen, that EB is a very good actor. IMHO!!!
MM is a great actor, but she sucked on the L Word again IMHO. I don't care if she's a friend of Jennifer Beals.
Are you saying that because I love Jennifer Beals, I must think all of her friends that act are wonderful actors? I think not. They may good or bad, but it doesn't follow through to their friendship.
Anyway, I don't want Tibette to be messed with. There are only 8 episdoes, and I personally can't see why there are more actors coming on when there are plenty of stories that could be told very well with the cast as it was last season. However, I am certainly glad Jodi has only two episodes. A multi-episode gig for EB takes up too much time. I don't even care, anymore, if there's a spinoff or not.
I truly hope that Bette gets the "Fawn" back from Tina and no one else.
No, you don't have to think that all of her friends
are wonderful actors - but IMHO you should show them some respect. Jennifer is a core TLW actor, founding member of OC, and a LGBT activist. That's all I'm saying - show anyone that is trying to further TLW and its cause respect.
I honestly don't care what Elizabeth has acted in in the past. As far as I'm concerned, she has a clean slate starting with TLW. Sure, she knows Jennifer, and probably got considered for the job because of her, that's good enough for me. All other actors besides the core actors are just fluff anyway, right?
As to the speculation on story line, number of eps for it, etc., I think we should all wait and see before we pass judgement.
Thank you for your return comment response. I do believe you and I have had TiBette banter in the past. We both want the same thing, I just look at things differently - more of the greater good mentality. I very seldom criticize those I do not know or understand - especially those in the arts. They put themselves out there each and every performance - they have enough critics, including themselves. I always find something good to say.
One other point - I don't think Marlee "sucked" on TLW - she was always the character we weren't really supposed to think had "chemisty" with Bette - the antagonistic lover! She did a great job!

I don't think Marlee sucked, on TLW, either. And for one not following the career of Cybill Shepherd, she drew me in and made some really good moments
To make something, we all need ingredients... and I would have to appreciate all the ingredients, so as to appreciate the mix...and I know my mom, when she cooks, is constantly trying to improve, even if we all loved it, by adding some new flavors.
I might not sit there and eat pepper corns, but I appreciate what it adds to many dishes.

IC should think in her credibility as a writer and understand tha is the people who gives ratings. I´m sure she will not want season 6 with super duper low ratings like season 3 crap. She has to follow the storiline she made on season 5 anyway, theré´s just 8 episodes...with all those efforts to bring Bette and Tina back to each other in season 5 i don´t think she will be so dumb to completly change Bete and Tina´s storiline in 8 episodes.

SOMETIMES THAT MESSES WITH THE CHEMISTRY WITH STORYLINES. LIKE EVERYTIME I SEEN MARLEE AND JENNIFER IN SCENES TOGETHER, IT WAS NOT AS SURREAL FOR ME, BECAUSE I KNEW THEY WERE FRIENDS, AND I WOULD PICTURE THEM AFTER EVERY SCENE JUST GOOFING OFF. I BELIEVE ONE REASON THE CHEMISTRY BETWEEN BETTE AND TINA (LAUREL & JENNIFER) WAS SO AMAZING IS BECAUSE THEY DID NOT KNOW EACH OTHER, THESE TWO ACTRESSES LITERALLY HAD TO LOOK IN TO EACH OTHERS EYES...FROM DAY ONE AND IT WAS EITHER GOING TO WORK OR NOT, AND THEIR CHEMISTRY CLICKED!! It is pretty hard to believe that someone could resist BP, straight or not. Kind of like it was difficult to believe someone who had BP would want to see other people and refuse to be monogamous. Maybe it'll all just be in flashbacks when Bette was younger and less experienced.

I am looking forward to Elizabeth Berkley joining the L Word cast.
She was in a movie together with Jennifer Beals in the past called Rodger Dodger, I've read that they became good friend ever since.
I only hope that she will not mess with Bette and Tina, they have been through enough drama (cheating etc. etc.) I hope Ilene will not be that crazy.
Being a friend does not always
make a good casting choice. I know that I have read that JB never had anything to do with MM getting the part of Jodi. However, I think that relationship was truly disastrous as it played out. I think them being friends actually was not a good thing. So, for me, the friends, thing is not a plus at all.

Bette and Jodi never EVER worked, it was a disaster and MM got hmmmmm a little bit " hated" because of her charecter...i´m sorry but it´s true.IC couldn´t deny Jennifer Beals and Luh chemistry, that´s why she brough them together.I´m sure JB and Luh are friends as well, but the fact is that we never saw friends with such a chemistry wich can turn the most ceptical person in a believer.

have been a good actor on that SBTB show (which I watched back), but she did a helluva job acting like a stripper in Striptease! LOL! When this film came I was intrigued by Ms. Berkeley's performance(s)...and I've NEVER looked at her the same since...in a good way. I think she will bring a pleasant surprise to the show...
PS, Grace that dang bat phone might just be working...it was propbably busy due to Batman's (Christian Bale's) mother and sister calling trying to reach the police b/c he was beating the hell out of the both of them...alledgedly LMAO! I just couldn't resist...

I am personally thrilled to hear Elizabeth is joining the show for the final season. The woman has come a long way since "Saved By The Bell". Not ony is she totally gorgeous, she is very talented. In my opinion she was totally robbed by the negative reviews of "Showgirls" because she did an awesome job on that movie. And as a major Tibette fan, I am not at all worried about her screwing up Bette and Tina in large part because Iilene is not stupid, so I am sure she would recognize a large portion of the fan base could turn south. I don't think she would run that risk. And since they have already said the show is going to end with open story lines to allow for the spin off, if Iilene were to piss off a large portion of the fan base by breaking up the most popoular couple not once, not twice, but three times? Oh please give me a break! The spinoff could and probably would suffer.
