July 13, 2008 - 11:19pm — nicky120hey guys,im a great fan of the l word,i watched it from he first season to the latest one,well i love bette and tina,and guess what i have something that i have noticed on the first episode of season 5.Its the necklace that both bette and tina wore.Its really the same but they are not back together on that first episode,why would they wear the same necklace if they are not together?I haven't seen any episode from any season that bette gave tina or tina gave bette the same necklace.And also i saw this picture of jennifer beals wearing the same necklace...so what does it mean,does it mean something that they have a great friendship out of set or what?

so if not for angelica,what would be other reasons of wearing it?
went back and investigated.....
I finally went back fast forwarded all the scenes with Bette and Tina.....it's definately the same necklace in season 5 episode one.....and throughout the rest of the episodes, looks like the same necklace except in a few scenes, I was not sure. Your right it looks like an A. I guess for Angelica. Very cute. I liked that they wore it throughout the season, it showed their connection whether together or not.
Yes, they did wear the same
Yes, they did wear the same necklace in the first episode of season 5. In the later episodes when we see one of them wearing it the other wouldn't be wearing it. They come close to wear it at the same time in 511. Tina was wearing it the whole day and Bette has it during the longest and the most boring break up of the century. Unfortunately we don't see them together much in the episode. And at the end when they are together with Angie I really couldn't tell if Bette was wearing it or not.

Did they only wear it in the first episode? If so, I'd agree with Blabber that it's to show solidarity when they go to interview for preschool. And I'm sure they are both great friends. How could they not be? They're both sweet, caring people and they've worked together for a long time now.

Wardrobe decision
I think wardrobe asked them to wear identical necklaces for the preschool meeting to make it appear that they were still together, for the sake of Angelica's application.

I never noticed the matching necklaces? Most likely they wear whatever they are told to, even jewerly. But if they wear it for any other reason, that's nice. They worked pretty close together for the last six years. Just being women, I am sure that they have bonded in some ways. It would be nice to know after all these years that these to have a great friendship. It sad when people are in your life for along time and for whatever reason, whether they move away or whatever, you lose contact. Maybe I just get emotionally attached to people easy, that I care about anyway. I really hope these two beautiful spirits remain friends well after the L Word....
