February 21, 2008 - 4:21pm — TBetterI think the ultimate reunion and expression of their committed love would be a wedding between Bette and Tina. If any two characters on televsion, gay or straight, deserve a wedding it would be Bette and Tina. Plus, it would be an excellent opportunity for IC and Showtime to portray a Lesbian couple, who love and are committed to each other, getting married on television. The general public (and all of us), need to see this!
Okay, so, I picture Angie as the flower girl - how cute would that be?
Who would be the maids of honor?
Who should marry them?
What else do you picture happening?

Tina should propose after she surprises Bette with her Kiki Smith paintings that she bought back for Bette....remember the deer art Bette sold? Would that be romantic or what?

i absolutely love a tibette wedding on the final season of the L word. not only it will give us enormous joy being tibette fans but it will also give such a peaceful feeling thinking that bette and tina will be together forever. final season is a bitter thing for all the L word fans but it could also be the sweetest thing if they let bette and tina walk down the aisle.. first, last, and forever!

I definitely want to see a wedding and nothing but happiness for Bette and Tina an if they want to bring another baby in the picture bring it on, as long as they end the show happy in love I don't care what story line they decided to go with!!

For there honeymoon...they should go to dubai..i highly recommend burj al arab a seven star hotel with very elegant facilities.yeah angelica should be with kit this time ,we want bette and tina to enjoy and savior this moment in there lives....

I'm in total agreement with having a Tibette wedding if only for the sake of a strong story. It would be weak and repetitive if one of them cheated again or if they broke up for some stupid reason. Someone's already been killed off the show as well so it's time for IC and the other writers to get creative. There can be drama without a breakup! Also I think I'd lose all hope in true love. :P End rant.
On a lighter note, who do you all think should propose? I think it would be great if Tina proposed in some incredibly romantic way. It's probably a little cheesy, but I imagine it going down a bit like the pregnancy test scene in season 1, paying homage to that wonderful early Tibette moment. Bette walks in and is somehow swept off her feet by our sweet, creative Tina. *sigh*

A Tibette wedding would the perfect end to this marvelous show. Although Bette said they didn't get married because Tina said it was to conventional or something like that, I believe they may have evolved beyond this thinking at this point in their relationship.
A wedding would be a great way for them to demonstrate how committed they really are to each other. It would also be a great way to show the LGBTQ community and mainstream America (world) that Lesbians don't just go around sleeping with each other (bouncing from person to person) and that they can live, love, and stay in committed monogamous relationships.
*shrug* Just my thoughts anyway :o)

I think the look on Bette's face when shopping for a dress with Carmen indicated she would love to have married Tina. But, Tina didn't want to follow the convential paradigm. I took that to mean the "committment" process was in imitation of the real deal because it wasn' legal yet. I think it would not be inconsistent if Tina would now marry because they would not be creating something out of the traditional model, but rather be a part of the actual tradition. I attended a big lesbian wedding in LA last week and I can tell you it was great! I think Bette and Tina should, and will have a wedding before this show ends. that' my prediction.

I remember Shane screwing Jenny's recent ex in the finale. Jenny said it was the ultimate betrayal. That doesn't sound like "marriage" to me. Plus, wouldn't they have to first get together before we could start planning a wedding?

No, but it is the kick-off to a storyline wherein these two will finally reconcile after realizing just how much they love each other and how it would basically be impossible for them to be without each other. Really, have a little vision, will ya? :p

It is now legal for gays and lesbians to marry in California...
So, why not a TiBette wedding then? It would be very timely to show Bette and Tina, as a lesbian couple, getting married on television. They live in California, right? Let's keep this thread going so IC will notice.

I think their long term relationship will work if Bette goes back to her lawyer and asked her to do whatever it takes legally for Tina to have her autonomy. For example make Tina 1/2 owner of the house and belongings etc.
Seemed important to Tina in the beginning. That would be a good wedding gift to Tina.

The following is the TiBette section of my Season Six Wish List (actually just went ahead and made a blog out of it):
Bette and Tina: The journey of happiness and commitment of two people who have so deeply hurt will certainly be difficult. If they can love as intensely as they hurt – if they can truly forgive and move forward – all is possible. I am ready for this difficult journey and the inevitable fruition of happiness. That being said, we need a Bette and Tina wedding! A beach side, sunset wedding in Laguna – with self written vows – Angelica and Kit by their sides – surrounded by their friends. Let’s don’t make a big deal of the “right to wed” issue here – not with this one. We can hope by the time filming starts, the state of California has substantial legal change mandated by law, and our couple marrying here will be a dreamed non-issue. Otherwise, let them marry in their own ceremony, in California, with their family and friends. We will begin and “end” their beginning where it started. It would be gratification beyond imagination to cast our eyes on Cynthia Summers’s wedding wardrobe and aurally perceive Elizabeth Ziff’s musical score for our ‘wedding of a lifetime.” With all of our senses in TiBette overload, it will border on the incomprehensible. To relieve my angst, have Tina buy back and give Bette the Kiki Smith “Fawn” print for her wedding gift – romantic perfection!

Well Tex as usual you have all the right ingredients for a great conclusion.
I must say I agree this wedding will be so beautiful, I think having it at their home or maybe The Planet would be so romantic and very intimate. I think they are so past the whole normal, big extravagant type of ordeal and a cute simple and sweet ceremony of their own would be great, right on the money Tex and with their family and friends. This really is all that is important to them just being together and with the people they love.
I hope Tina gets the Kiki Smith "Fawn" back for Bette too, I know my Tina will not rest until she can heal this error. And yes this is the perfect and most romantic gift Tina could give Bette, aside from her undying love and support.

I think that is the building block to the TiBette wedding we have all been waiting for. I hope that is somewhere in season 6 for us.

I've been thinking about it. I quess I just want to see them putting their rings back on. The conversation around that. Seeing Tina and Bette recommitting to each other would be great. Someone mentioned a small beach ceromony with their friends. That sounds good to me.
Exchanging rings
and recommitment ceremony(if necessary)would be more fiting for them. I'd rather they do it in private...just the two of them.
I'd love a wedding or a commitment ceremony.
After all they have been through, it would be nice for them to reaffirm their love and commitment to each other in front of family and friends. I think it is really a symbolic ceremony that would tell the world they now know, after being separated, that they truly are in love only with each other and can't imagine being with anyone else for the rest of their lives.

I believe that the most beautiful, sexiest, most amazing couple (gay or straight) are actually Bette and Tina (Bette is a killer!). And a wedding would definitely be a seal to their relationship. It would be perfect, even though tina believes marriage is too conventional, and it cleaves too much to the heterosexual paradigm, but hey a lots changed especially when it was cleaving all over her.

the wedding and reception should reflect both of them, simple like barefoot on the beach, with all their close friends and family gathered around. remember in the elevator they both like to stay home on new years eve.... so i would think tina would change her mind about marriage and they would want some thing simple and yet rememberable...and the bachelorette party should be a mega blast for them. shane should make more "party brownies" lol.

I would absolutely love it. I hope, hope, hope we do get to see a Bette and Tina wedding before the TLW ends its successful run. B/T have been put through the grinder over the years. Hopefully, their enduring love will guide them back to each other in S5. A wedding would be such a grand event and the ultimate farewell to a couple who's captured the heart and devotion of some many of us.
Really, I just want to see them make it as a couple. In a good place with each other. Happy, in love, healthy. Bette and Tina, the icon, will live on long after the show end.

Yes, if we are only going to get 8 episodes next season, then the final show ought to be 2 hours. Wouldn't it be fun if the wedding is also quite comical? You know, like nothing goes right, a lot of laughter and set-backs, but then, in the final moment they are standing eye to eye expressing their vows! It could be fun!
