things that bother me...
This is the most important one ...from season 2 to season 3 ...how in the world did Helena and Alice become such close friends!??? how did that happen??..cause they interacted once I think in Season 2 and all of a sudden they are buddies doing Yoga in season 3. Just don't get it. Can someone explain that one to me? Other thing is as we all wonder..ehhh where is Papi? Carmen and Shane NEED closure! I mean they need it.... I mean Shane you were about to marry this girl. Is Tina really living with Bette? How exactly did that play?..I guess in continuity there are always things we have to assume..like the whole Jenny thing coming back from floating somewhere in the California coast.. how ..don't know..maybe they talk about it later...A COUPLE OF THINGS THAT I BELIEVE HAVE TO CHANGE .....BETTE'S and HELENA'S HAIR!!! what is up with that...I mean remember the Helena from season2 I loved her do...gorgeous..make her rich and powerful again..but of course not as bitchy!!! hahaha I was thinking with all the action that Shane is getting it must be like..."I f-ed u, and u , AND u ..wait..oh yeah yeah u too I remember now mmm..u ..not so much ..HOW U DOING;)??"

Season 5
Enjoyed the premiere and looking forward to seeing if the show lives up to previous seasons. However, they must must must lose Jenny. She has become a totally comical, unbelievable, annoying character.
Took 3 Days, But I finally finished it. Not Impressed.
Ok, I ve watched every L Word episode from day one and I feel that the show is quickly going downhill. Season's 1-3 where AWESOME!! Then season 4 rolls around and in every episode I feel that they hired writers from birth control commercials to write the script for the show. It's as if they go, "We HAVE to address EVERY issue in LGBT life and make it OBVIOUS in every episode". I get that issues need to be addressed and that they are a main point to the show, however there are ways to do it that aren't so obvious. You don't need Phyliss asking "What is the T?" for Max to chime in with a bland uncreative response. I mean I think everyone that watches the show knows about all the things that are going on in the show, 1. Lesbians can be good mothers. 2. Anyone can be a lesbian, including deaf people. 3. We are at war. 4. People change there sex. 5. People that are not Lesbians now may truly be at heart. Ok, so I hope the show gets back to old form where there was a great show that had lesbian characters instead of an infomercial about lesbian life.

I think I will say over and over again I enjoy the show and I love the role of Tasha ..I think having Rose play the role of a Military women and In love is awesome there are so many women in the military who have to keep quite about being in love with a another women (Don't ask Don't tell)and everything is ok ...But if you tell your Done for . so Thank you Ilene for such a Charater!!!

Honestly I've never questioned what the "T" was for. I'm sure someone might have mentioned it before, but had totally forgot until I saw the 1st ep. of season 5.
I like how L Word brings in all aspect of life into the show.
I don't really see how people cope with war, being deaf and sex change in reality. They provide us with more detail and views which I love cause I learn from it.
PS:
I also feel that Shane and Alice are the only two sincere characters left on the show. Everyone else seems so fake and scripted. I hope they are paying attention to the acting cause I know that I am.

Did anyone notice that Helena won her 1 mill bet with Catherine about Paige and Shane? You think that chunk of change will spring Helena? You think Catherine is going to bail on the bet? This seems like an obvious story thread the writers won't forget. Lezbeth

First off, I'd like to repeat the famous words of "Alice"; Where is Papi? Please tell me Papi is going to continue to season 5. I love her. We need a urban ghetto stud like papi. Second, I agree with Haus, I feel as though episode 1 was put together. I hope this season is as explosive as all the other four seasons.
I was very thrilled to see the whole cast of The L Word at the Season 5 Premiere in Los Angeles @ The Factory. To be honest, Season 4 premiere @ Hard Rock Cafe was much better. I loved it!

Didn't seem well thought out
I thought that it didn't live up to the last episode of season four. The ending to season four was beautifully done, thoughtful and artistic. I felt like the first episode of this season was kind of thrown together. "Let's get the plot and details going, forget about making it flow well and thoughtful."

501 was so much better than the finale of last season. Give it some time jeez, it's just the first episode.

Hi, I didn't get a chance to see the Showtime full version of the first episode. How was in compared to what they showed here on OurChart? Did they cut a lot to put it online?

Hi there! Read your recent response and I think you make good points. I agree that there is something more perhaps going on with Bette's lack of comfort with Jodi. I think it may go beyond Jodi's attempts at breaking Bette's controlling tendacies by forcing Bette to submit to her.
Besides, Bette is not some school project for crying out loud. If this is Jodi's actual approach, I think it's getting a bit elementary for my taste.
Off topic, I loved the Alice and Tasha scenes from the premiere. It was hotter than we thought!
Also, loved seeing JB and LH co-hosting. They're just soooo marketable.

I laughed my ass off and enjoyed this episode! I cheered like a touch down cheer when Jenny's assistant fucking quit! I loved the intro and the whole film in a film. You are accomplishing bringing back the first season feel!
When are these women going to know not to allow Shane to go make the first move? Yeah, Shane's back...but more on the aggressive and not on the laid back way...but the apartment scene was done very well.
Oh, and thank you...you brought back the living sound...the sirens and the lawn mower in the background. Excellent touch!

Bette is really trying to figure out Tina. She went too personal and I'm glad T bit her off on it. Bette is trying to pull T into playing and T is feeling it, I'm glad she isn't responding - at this point.
And the blind-fold scene was steamy...not as steamy as Tasha coming through the door....Tasha, Tasha, Tasha... The final scene. LOVED IT! The visual and the dialogue...the whole thing. LOVED IT!

Ah the sex... it was very interesting. In a sense, it was a peep show. We walk in on these women to what they are seemingly about in it.
Shane and whomever: walking in, like a mistake, the very middle very casual and on the run sex..
Phyllis and Joyce : the wow in the after glow and talking about it and breaking it apart...
Bette and Jodi : teaching and learning and control struggles...games
Alice and Tasha : their passion of just wanting to be together despite the rest of the world...no matter where, no matter what...

Watched the season premiere last night, and I have to say I absolutely adored every second. I loved the feel that this first episode set for the season, I hope they keep it up! I love this show for it's ability to hit on issues that real couples deal with; while at the same time being light and airy or even somewhat cheesy in it's humor! I couldn't have asked for more! Great first episode!!
P.s. The sex this season is looking great!! Could Alice be more sexy!?! What amazing breasts =)

I watch the first ep. on showtime and my thought...
I watch the first ep. on showtime and my thought so far I like it, I love Shane, Alice and Helena but my priority watching this show is Bette and Tina, I just love them since the show started.
After watching the premier opening with JB and LH, I'm so exited, these two lovely ladies really have big chemistry on each other, no matter it's on TLW or not they just cannot be compare to anybody else, they're so perfect together emotionally and physically, so gorgeous.
And preschool and pool scenes it's so adorable and magnetic, I kept watching these scenes more then 5 times, it's brilliant.
Jodi and Bette, they become more boring than ever, the incident about the tablecloth it was too much, Jodi is self sentered, overbearing and controlling freak. I can see soon or later but I prefer soon, Bette is going to get sick and tired with Jodi attitude because everytime Bette trying to please she get insulted and accused for being controlling, Jodi never appreciate whatever Bette did to her. We all can see how obviously upset Bette is and instead talking Jodi went straight for sex because that's the only think seem good for Jodi to distracted Bette. They argue a lot and have sex, and this is not what I call a healthy relationship. I kept asking over and over, why is Bette still taking Jodi BS, I just feel bad for Batte, I hope Bette realized how uncompatible she is with Jodi, Bette need to walk away and someday have a gut for telling her to f*** herself. Their relationship it's already doomed as far as my concern,

so its clear that this season Max is going to feel left out because she is transgender and not a lesbian which is what Alice stated within the 1st couple of shot of the show.... are we going have to deal with her shit again 'no one likes me its hard booboo..run away'..please lets not. it's not that i dont support my trannies i do but really max isnt the best repersentation of that in my opinion. but hey and then in the next sense the sense with Bete and Tina playing in the pool with the baby cute...okay nice there getting along on a family tip..and then BANG! Tina has her bath suit top off okay trying to set up sexually tension...BOO!! please dont i have had enough of them two what bete needs is some who matchs her strenght and tina doesnt she compliments it but doesnt complete the puzzle...now jody there is the one for bete they can both take each other on and match without compromise. which you can see in the sence when they go to her loft. yes bete is controling we know this we've seen this through all 4 season no surprise but to see jody with her feels like yes she will share power and be alittle weak sometimes...now shane this shit is gettin old so fucking old...man...really okay shes a player no wait shes in love no wait shes a player fuck come on man...do something with her its driving me crazy she use to be my fave character but know nah...she needs carmen or a carmen like character to steady her ass down cause man...so wait is papi still in the show if not is that why she uped her player status???umm....but then jenny fucking bitch lol wow i think they main thing with jena is she is now trying to buy her friends and not the ones who have been there but the ones who dont know how crazy and two-faced she is. playing a big shot doesnt make you one....and yes to make it more interesting the love between alice&natasha her going a-wall would spice things up but that is stuipd so now for the rest of the season we are going to be thinking are they going to send the black girl to jail or not wow she's fuck black, lesbian and in the military...who did i forget helena that girl is becoming more ride or die which plays to the whole what happens when you take money from the rich??...they live by an "any means nessary" rule which means if i need to lick some pussy for 100,000 heres my tounge. i dont even remeber that sense when she stole that girls money and if it is that easy to just say where the money is then who not..OHHH! cause prison sex sense are hot...NOT!!...how is that sexy in a jail your back against the bars the prison graud yelling QUITE DOWN BACK THERE!!!..oh yeah mmm thats one of my fantasies...i hope that the next espiosed is a bit more detailed i feel like i already know what's going to happene...

I did get the email prompt from Ours Truly OUR CHART to preview the first show of the new season...I refused to look @ it...I want to be comfy in my leather chair with my Life Partner and watch it on our large screen T.V.- Showcase in Quebec has moved it to Sundays insteatd of Tursdays or maybe it was the network itself...Lets just hope they don't start moving the show all over the place until it dissapears, which is just like the male kahunas who own the networks usually do when they think no one is watching...Peace Out everyone!!

Honestly, with all due respect to all in our community.
This has became another show that I can go without worrying to lose an episode, it has become predictable and boring.
So sad, that a great idea had turn into another program that tries to survive that first season...with the lack of creativity from their staff (producers, creators, writers, etc.) I'm surprised that was booked again for this season
Don't get me wrong still some drama and comedy is attached to it but nothing that will be missed.

I must say, well said Varia. I love how eloquently you stated your point. I think the L Word has lots to offer. Sometimes you just have to sit back and enjoy the ride. Oh and I love your reference to Lao Ma. One of my favorite Xena characters.

I realize and respect your opinion, but i beg to differ! I think the L Word is still a great show. Agreed there is a bit of repetitiveness, but I think every great show has a bit of repetitiveness it helps us to get to know and relate to the characters. It also makes the story more realistic. For example as far as Shane's commitment problems goes people in real life don't always make one mistake and clean up their act right away it takes time for a person to grow and I think maybe that is something we will see eventually as her character starts to grow just give it some time! Give the writers a break the show is pretty big and think of all the things they have to deal with there is a lot of pressure from the community not everyone is the same they have to do something that is good, but at the same time pleases a wide demographic! It is also just the 5th season and they have a lot of characters coming and going so that means more story line opportunities. I think that the show is really just getting its feet on the ground and will do nothing, but become even better!

Wow - I am really not too sure how many other tv series there are out there that specifically deal with lesbian women, gay issues, women's issues, human issues and political issues - aside from the l word? I can't even tell you how many people out there (particularily gay youth) that find this series a saviour. I will tell you that there would be plenty that would be missed...especially when it comes to driving issues forward and bringing them to light. Be greatful for what the l word is, what it has and continues to do.

Its comes as a complete surprise to hear someone say that the L word is just another show when it is so much more than a television series. This is the 5th season not the 2nd so to say the L word is trying to survive is so far from the truth; L word is alive strong! It has changed the lives of thousands of people throughout the world and continues to give a voice to gay life, culture and everyday experience... as humans we all experience the same hurt and pain /laughter and joy in our relationships with our family, friends and significant others; the L word has enabled the world to see a new perspective on 'gay life rather than the stereotypes that have been forced down our throats for years and years.
I think that the show is absolutely amazing and couldn't imagine how anyone could watch an episode and not enjoy it and get hooked for life.

Jenny has gotten progressively more irritating...now I just can't stand her. Ugh...she's worse than ever! She was more interesting when she was damaged.
Every season I berate myself for falling for Shane...now I realize I can't help it...she's hotter every season no matter what! I'm hooked for good....and I'm fine with it!
I feel like an L Word traitor 'cuz I really don't care if Bette and Tina make it through.
Alice is perfection and Tasha provides a great story line.
Can't wait to see Helena struggle through her current situation...could be VERY hott.
Love the story line with Cybill Sheppard and the Mighty Wind woman...love into middle age is intriguing!!

Hard to see Cybil Shepard as a lesbian, a bit out of her norm but it works. Jenny used to just annoy me, but now she is turning out to be an obnoxious bitch. I hope during the season someone knocks some sense in her. Poor Helena, hopefully she will get out soon and back on her feet. I would like to see a bit more of what became of her mother with that woman also... Alice, what to say about she is so cute and innocent. I hope things work out for her and Tasha. As for Bette and Tina, I am undecided if I want them back together or not, but Jodi and Bette are not a good match. I love what you have done with Max it is enlightening to be able to watch a show that has all aspects of the lez world. I can see why Paige is so pissed at Shane, but Shane did warn her before they hooked up that she is the way she is.
You have done such an awesome job with this show. I love every character you have created. (Except Jenny)
