There is likely much grieving among viewers as Season Five of The L Word comes to a close, so it pains me to explain that this is also the series finale of
The Secret Ingredient. For our last segment, Ilene makes Cobb Salad Wraps. Does that pun lift any spirits? Well, perhaps the inside scoop on Episode 512, "Loyal and True," will help. Or maybe a couple of hints about Season Six will do the trick. Enjoy!
The REAL Ingredients:
2 c. cubed cooked chicken
1/3 c. chopped green onion
1 tomato, seeded and chopped
1 avocado, peeled and chopped
1/3 c. red wine vinaigrette salad dressing
1 tbsp. Dijon mustard
6 (10") flour tortillas
1-1/2 c. shredded fresh spinach
1 c. crumbled blue cheese
Preparation:
Combine chicken, green onion, tomato and avocado in medium bowl and gently mix. In small bowl, combine salad dressing and Dijon mustard and whisk to blend. Add to chicken mixture and stir to coat.
When ready to serve, spoon chicken mixture into each tortilla.

Max Pulls Adele's File
How about having Max run a background check on Adele? He finds out something that can destroy the life she created.
Jenny's experience this past season should help her become not only a better writer, but maker her become more aware of the people she allows in her life.
DONT LET SHENNY HAPPEN
I dont think its a good idea cause Shane and Jenny are really great together but only as friends not as lovers.
A few things I would love to see in Season 6
Bette & Tina - The soul mates of WeHo are taking it one day at a time. Tina's still in the film business - possibly with Peabody Films owned by Helena (you know, since she back in the green again and all). Bette remains the Dean of School of Arts at Cal U with loyal James at the front desk. She and Tina are more passionate with each other and Bette surprises the group by announcing her (Bette) pregnancy of their second baby.
Alice & Tasha - After getting rave reviews from fans and critics from her appearances on The Look, Alice gets a better offer from producers - her own talk show! Tasha is a beat cop and she is damn good at what she does using her experience from the military. She's comfortable in her own element as a cop and Alice is slowly but surely accepting Tasha's career choice because it makes her happy.
Helena - She and Cindi are obviously in a relationship after what happened at SheBar. And since she's back in the money fold, Helena followed mummy's advice and spends it willy-nilly but apprecitates the value of the dollar more. She buys back the studio as well as the rights to Lez Girls giving Jenny back her baby (let's not forget William is about business). With the studio being Peabody owned again (see the name in 'Bette & Tina'), she kicks Adele out on her ass, they keep the ending as is and Aaron is also fired. Helena gives Tina his position as CEO and Cindi as VP. By the way...what really happened between Helena and Dusty?
Shane & Jenny - She needs to come to terms with what she does and how it hurts the ones that love her. I too find it hard to swallow that Shane would do that to Jenny. They have a deep history that truly started, in my opinion, the morning Shane found Jenny in the bathroom cutting herself on the bathroom floor in the season 2 finale. After that it seemed that Shane became more a bodyguard for her. She deeply cared for Jenny; they were best friends in the deepest way. When Shane walked off the set with Jenny without hesitation shows how true of a friend she is to her; the conversation they had that evening over cannabis was something Jenny needed. I hope they can repair their friendship. That's a love affair in itself if I ever saw one.
Adele - Marveling in her carbon copy ego trip, Adele meets an admirer who impresses her and is given the job as her assistant (just like how she met Jenny). Little does she know the assistant is someone Jenny knows from back home who unbeknownst to Jenny, is there seeking vengeance for what Adele did to her friend. She starts by causing tension between Adele and Begoña. I figure if the wonderful writers and actors of this show are going to go with the All About Eve angle - take it all the way. What goes around comes around right? Someone from her past compromises her new life and is willing to go as far as blackmailing her to keep quiet. As if things couldn't get any worse.
Just a few ideas I wanted to throw in the pot.
Peace
Ilene
You're a genius. That was excellent. Thanks again, and looking forward to getting more. Always.

Bette...Pregnant?
Bette...Pregnant? Omg, that would be soo cute and beneficial. I think it'll make their relationship even stronger, because it'll make Bette realise that Tina can play both roles of the relationship and that they are both equal.
Before, Bette was the more dominant half in the relationship, but now that they were separated and have been in other relationships, they have both found the faults in themselves. For Bette, i think it was being too much of a control freak and being too wrapped up in herself. For Tina, it was letting Bette make all the decisions and not letting herself lead in some parts.
Yay! Go Tibette!
a very strong feeling!
from what i see in this clip i reckon bette is gonna be pregnant next season.OMG!

Is IC playing Shenny?
We just witnessed Jenny say "You know what, it's the ultimate betrayal," Jenny tells Shane.
Jenny continues: "You've broken my heart."( implied in a friendship way of course). Is IC playing Shenny before our eyes now? I don't think so.Jenniki is going to happen.

Kate French: It came out really well and Mia called me after the first episode and said, "Oh my God, we make such a good couple!" and I was like, "Yeah, it works!"
"Core"
I have started a discussion with a poster on www.tibette.com about the meaning of "Core" a few weeks ago. I thought I'd post it here as well. It could be one of the loose ends at the beginning of Season 6 or a storyline for Jodie, i.e letting her butt heads with Bette. At least I wouldn't mind because it's interesting. We want Alpha-Bette back anyway, don't we?
I still agree to Ilene’s statement that Jodie’s piece of art wasn’t plain vicious but at first view it wasn’t very well thought through by the writers either. It looks like not sticking to the core characteristics of Jodie any longer just for the sake of drama and that’s a pity, at least in my humble opinion. Okay, this show had some plot holes (e.g. Helena having siblings in Season 2 but all of a sudden being the sole heiress in Season 5) throughout the seasons but overall it was very well thought through. I’d say that’s one of the reasons why people love this show so much.
Nevertheless I feel a little bit disappointed because it doesn’t make sense in so many ways: First of all I’d love to understand how Jodie did it, when she is deaf and even more how could she do it on such a short notice? As you’ve said right from the start, she must have changed her mind about what she was going to exhibit at the Hammer museum right after the break-up or the writers forgot what they’d put in Bette’s mouth before. When episode 12 opens, Bette tells Tina that she has spoken to the curator of the museum who told her that the piece was amazing. Later, when Serena Dean welcomes Bette, she says: “I’m so relived you came after Jodie told me what the piece was …” As I mentioned before, someone please tell me how she managed to put this together. Maybe Tom helped her with the sound but still, how did she get the footage? Did she know long before that Bette would break up with her eventually and therefore wore some hidden camera and micro up her sleeve? Is Mark Wayland her nephew? We will probably never know…
But let’s get back to where it all began: When we were introduced to Jodie, she was this (imho not so) fiery, free spirited artist, who didn’t like kids and couldn’t do monogamy. For her, everything was desire and she didn’t give a damn about responsibilities. In her (presumably) first week at CU, she even had the boldness to deny her superior’s order to hide a controversial piece of art when a major right wing donor came to visit the studio. I acknowledge the necessity to show us the mutual attraction but also their differences as soon as possible. It was Ilene who wanted Bette to grapple with this relationship when she thought she was through with Tina. Jodie needed to be antithesis of Tina, so far, so good.
Going unnoticed by the viewers, Jodie fell head over heels for Bette and suddenly she was willing to change her attitude. Fine, who wouldn’t do that for Bette? But this is what I don’t understand at all: how can you claim to love someone, to care deeply for this person and brag about being able to read someone’s body language without ever noticing that there is something terribly wrong within your relationship? Jodie never seemed to notice the longing glances Bette and Tina were sharing as soon as they were close to each other; she never questioned Bette’s possessive jealousy in relation to Tina, Bette feeling uncomfortable with Jodie’s outspoken friends and most of all she didn’t even flinch when Bette pleased herself on top of her. Come on, women usually are VERY sensitive in picking up vibes but Jodie remained unaffected by all these anvils falling down like leaves in autumn. That’s just not believable, not even when you are a free spirit and laid-back.
I think Amy was not wrong when she accused Jodie for selling out to the hearing world. We don’t know what it means being deaf and maybe the impenetrable ice-queen Bette Porter was Jodie’s first hearing lover in a long time. To me it always seemed as if Jodie was in love with her own illusion of whom and what Bette was; a very beautiful, bright, powerful, successful, passionate and bold woman. She loved the outside of Bette but she turned a blind eye to Bette’s true inner self; her vulnerability. It was never more palpable to me than when she tells Bette by the pool that she wants her back, i.e. her mind, her body and particularly her heart, which so obviously never belonged to her. I don’t deny that she had feelings for Bette but in my opinion Bette was some kind of trophy and when Bette broke up with her she wasn’t willing to let go.
She acted like a spoiled brat, whom was taken away his favorite toy. I mean it was plain rude when Tina tried to apologize and she asks Bette: “Why is she talking to me, doesn’t she know I’m deaf?” And later even more, when she refers to Tina as “that woman”. Did she forget that she was asking “that woman” whether Bette had been moody with Tina only one or two days earlier? And later, when they start talking, she mentions “sex” first, “love” only comes later. To me it’s another hint to her being unable to understand Bette. Sure, Bette likes sex like any other human being but love and commitment have always been so much more important to her. Jodie only gets the message when Bette tells her that they will never find that special something which is hard to define because Bette has it with someone else. It could be that Jodie eventually starts seeing Bette in a different light.
Jodie is selfish to a certain extent but I never considered her as being malicious. After the break-up her feelings are hurt and probably she seeks redemption in creating “Core”. She wants Bette to feel her pain by humiliating her publicly but at the same time I see it as her eventually getting to the truth of Bette; as a celebration of Bette; just like an unknowing art lover would perceive it. If you look at “Core” in association with Tina, it becomes a whole different meaning. Jodie says this piece of art is about core values: Love, loyalty, honesty and commitment. All these values absolutely apply to Bette’s and Tina’s relationship: Bette has always loved Tina, remained loyal and committed to Tina even when she cheated with the carpenter and last but not least, she was also pretty honest all the time. When Tina found out about the carpenter she didn’t deny it and all along this dreadful journey to find her way back to Tina, Bette’s eyes never lied. Did you notice that Bette’s expressive eyes are very prominent in “Core”?
Let me quote Bette’s speech: “… I’m repeatedly in awe of her fearless choices, her total emersion in her process, her audacity which borders on defiance and her works of art, which actually seem to extrude from her subconscious mind. She’s make me believe all over again in the redemptive power of art…” When I now listen to Bette’s words, I ask myself if Jodie subconsciously knew from the beginning that they never stood a chance and therefore never bothered about all the things like longing glances I’ve mentioned above.
What if “Core” was helping Jodie to ease her pain, to getting over Bette and moving on as quickly as possible while offering Bette a strong reason to not feeling guilty anymore? If Bette really and totally can let go of being humiliated publicly is to be seen in Season 6. I’m anxious…
uhm
It seems a little offensive and insulting when you say "First of all I’d love to understand how Jodie did it, when she is deaf"... she can read lips, and if she filmed it she obviously knows what Bette has said before in that clip, at least I would remember if I captured it for this purpose.. so i personally was a little offended, but that's just me... im not deaf or anything, but a jodie fan nonetheless. deaf people can do anything they want to.. just look at marlee in dancing with the stars WOOO!!!

I LOVE Jenniki too!
Because Mia knows best! Even Mia likes the pairing of Jenny and Niki, so there must be some kind of never-to-be-seen chemistry from Kate French (aka Niki) compared to all the previous characters Jenny was together with. "When Shane realizes or even contemplates what Jenny's saying to her - what does it mean to her? Is she gonna run from it? Does it horrify her? Or does it just finally OPEN HER HEART...?"
You know, in watching the
You know, in watching the entire series marathon-style (I had to to catch up!), I find it amusing that anyone would believe the changes in Jenny would have anything to do with Niki, who's little more than a flash in the pan series wise. lol
I mean, sure there were some fun, sweet and sexy moments between them but there is ZERO substance there. Niki continued to prove how wrong she was for Jenny time after time and I daresay that even if Jenny had been talking about Niki in her speech, she is well and truly over her after Niki's third betrayal. But it only takes watching that last scene and seeing Jenny completely ignore Niki to kind of seal the deal there though about who Jenny as NOT talking about *cough*Niki*cough*. As if there were any lingering doubts after this edition of Secret Ingredient. ;-)
Niki's role seems to be the same as Molly's...they both served as catalysts for the season cliffhanger. Without Molly, Shane would not have gone on a self-destructive tear with the puffball...and without losing Niki/her career/her movie, Jenny might not have been ready to really examine what was going on in her heart.
Now it gets really interesting. Paraphrasing what Ilene said above...how will Shane respond to Jenny? How will she behave? Will she run fast and hard away from it and continue down a self-destructive path or will she accept Jenny's offering?
My hope is that Shane will finally to choose to make major changes in her life...that she will allow herself to be loved and love unconditionally. It would be a fantastic full circle kind of thing, given how the pilot ended with her pondering wistfully about a fulfilling monogamous relationship.
Niki = Diabetes
Without Molly, Shane would not have gone on a self-destructive tear with the puffball...
lol - Puffball. That is probably the most perfect description of Niki I have heard, yet! And it's so apt! That's exactly what I think of, when I think of Niki - this big ball of bright pink cotton candy. Sure, it's pretty to look at and sweet, but when you take a bite, there's no substance to it - just sweetness that melts on your tongue and then dissipates almost immediately. Have too much of it and you make yourself sick, which is what Jenny most assuredly would have wound up as, had she decided to stay with Niki. Opposites might attract, but there are the kind of opposites which are healthy (reserved Shane and ballsy Jenny) and then there are the opposites which are toxic to each other (like Shane/Carmen and Jenny/Marina).
The truth is, Niki was a fun ride, but as intelligent and well-educated and complex as Jenny is, Jenny would never be able to respect herself, in the long run, if she stayed with a twit like Niki. She's too young for Jenny age-wise, not to mention maturity-wise and most probably education-wise, as well. Yes, Niki brought out the more daring, fun-seeking side of Jenny, but she did it at the worst possible times. There's a time for fun and a time for work and with Miss ADD '08, there was never enough time for fun, and Jenny was trying to be responsible and get the movie finished and make sure it was the best it could be.
If you boil it down, Jenny's relationship with Niki was what made it possible for Adele to take over the project, because being with Niki made Jenny careless in areas where she shouldn't have been. Basically, it's Niki's fault that Jenny lost her job and not just because of the sex tape, either. And then Niki has the nerve to act like a hurt little puppy dog, because Jenny won't return her phone calls?! PLEASE! I wouldn't have, either! Because that's what happens when you flake on the people you claim to care so much about. Your word isn't worth anything unless you back it up with deed, like Shane has always done and even then, Shane never had to tell Jenny 'I've got your back' - Jenny just knew that Shane would be there for her. Shane was her safety net. And that's what Jenny needs. She doesn't need some flakey, neurotic, immature bimbo who swears up and down that she loves Jenny and then lets her down when it's most important.
Oh, but Niki has a really hot body! So WHAT?! What good is beauty, when there's no substance? Not much, in the long run. Which is why Shane is such a wonderful catch and makes such a perfect partner for Jenny - sure, she doesn't think she has much to offer, but hopefully it won't be too far into the sixth season before she finally starts to realize just what a fantastic person she really is and what a loving heart she has.

Alice shouldn't cheat on
Alice shouldn't cheat on Tasha, they've been a great couple and I hope they are going to make it.
I miss Dana though.
Apart from that I hope Niki comes back, her storyline's been interesting, especially her struggle with her sexual identity and her not being able to come out of the closet.
Jenny and her made a great couple, i saw some developement in jenny's behaviour.
So please give them a shot,

no more nikki, thank god. i was so upset when they cast such a maxim girl, but i guess that was the point. the two of them together was NOT sexy, it was childish. jenny has such a sinister side that only someone like marina or random french girl on ski trip could compliment.
shane and jenny? perhaps.. i dont know why everyone hates on her. she's a dark little self absorbed bitch whose manipulation skills i admire! she gets what she wants, for the most part. her and shane together might just create this amplified ball of baggage that just might work. honestly though, i think jenny still likes the dick.
im fucking happy tina and bette are back in action, its about time.
NO MAAAM !!!!!! I protest
NO MAAAM !!!!!! I protest that.
I don't know what kind of show you were watching, but Alice's writing got corrupted. Alone the outing people thing was a horror idea to have been made happen. She may talk a lot, but Alice ain't no asshole like that. WTF were they thinkin' ?
Tasha's actions were in continuation of Season 4 only good, correct, loyal, honest and nothing but admirable.
As far as Jenny and Nikki goes. Jenny used to be the biggest pain in the ass that was ever been on TV. Season 1 - 3. This introvert lil nothing loser with issues bigger than the Mt. Everest. By the end of Season 4 she changed to this hilarious Hollywood diva, Mia was the one only highlight in Season 5. This believable transformation and now the real only showstopper of the series. Never imagined I could like her one bit. Now she got me bad. Nikki had a big deal to her likeability now. Plus Nikki is H-O-T, who cares if she's got a lil immaturatiy attached to her character. She's portraying a young upcoming actress on the verge to superstar. She's a very believable character. And she brought out real sweetness and cutiness of the once dark Schecter.
Everything you not enjoyed, other people enjoyed twice as much. Have a good day, Ma.
Cool

TIBETTE
The "Dance of Hotness" and the Poolside Lovin'...Jennifer and Laurel are IT. Hot damn. They are truly beautiful together. Sex on a platter. Just total ridiculously gorgeous SEX. The "Floorgasm" was just simply mesmerizing and hypnotic. Wow.
More JENNIFER AND LAUREL in S6, please.
Looking forward to MORE TIBETTE SEX in S6...pool, shower, strap-ons, lapdances, the Revelation of The Beals...just bring it on! We are ready.
And um NO to pregnant Bette. That would just be a disappointing disaster of a storyline after waiting THIS long for Tibette to finally reunite. Please just give us lots and lots of Tibette sexing it up before we even get to baby talk.
And oh, no more fucking with Bette's wardrobe...just let her be that fly sexpot we all know and love. Jennifer is just plain fucking stunning. So please let her be...no more ruffles or haircuts. Bring back HOT Bette in '09.
