So we've created "Friends Plus" as a way to designate on your chart someone who's more than just a friend: hookups, exes, one-night stands, long-term partners, and any other players in your own personal dyke drama.
Ever been secretly in love with your best friend? Kept up an intense relationship with an ex? Found yourself in a group of girls who've all slept with each other? Been out with a girl but weren't sure you were on a date?
So have we! All of these are your Friends Plus.
There are three ways to turn friends into Friends Plus (on this site, at least - offline, that number goes way, way up):
1. On the Chart, single-click your friends' photos to access their mini-profile, and then click "add to my Friends Plus" to submit a request.
2. On your Friends page, click the arrow next to your friends' usernames and select "add to my Friends Plus" from the drop-down list.
3. When viewing another user's profile, click "add to my Friends Plus" beneath their user photo.
Whenever you click "add to my Friends Plus," a notification is sent to that member prompting them to approve or deny your request. Nobody can designate you as Friends Plus without your permission, and vice versa.
Here are a few more tips to get you started:
* If you have a pending Friends Plus request, you'll see a notification to the right of your username in the gold navigation bar. You can also visit your Pending Requests page by clicking the link on your Friends page (just below the Friends tab).
* You can choose to approve or turn down your Friends Plus requests immediately, or you can think it over and decide later. All unanswered requests expire automatically after 30 days.
* If you become Friends Plus with someone, you automatically become friends as well, if you aren't already.
* You can choose to view all of your friends or just your Friends Plus by clicking the link beneath your user photo, the link in the upper left of your Chart, or the link beneath the tab on your Friends page.
* If you've got any more-than-friends types who you'd like to add as Friends Plus, but they're not on the Chart yet, you can send them an invite to join here. If you're looking for someone that you know is already registered with us, do a user search to track down their profile.
* The new My Friends section beneath the user photo on your profile pulls eight random friends from your friends list. You can't customize this area yet, but we'll add that in a future release.
* You may notice that your user photo is now a slightly larger 200x200 pixels. If you uploaded an image smaller than that, the site will automatically add a black border around it for you. If your image is larger, it will automatically be sized down (1600x1600 pixels is still the maximum size you can upload).
