Español

Please, someone could translate it? It´s so difficult to me listen what they are saying!!Please subtitles in spanish!! thanks to everyone!

it's frustrating! It's like

it's frustrating! It's like looking for solutions on how to stop war in Iraq or catastrophe in India or pakistan. I can't think of the exact box to fill in what's in my mind. BUT!!! I believe that there's purpose on all of these realities. Godspeed may one day be awakening and enlightenment be given, so that it will result to a great balance on one's journey.

Who loves you?

Kate & Gigi,

A Look At Gay Youth Homelessness, blew me away!
Incredible Work, congratulations to all involved.

It is so hard watching this cruel injustice and no doubt you had your moments working with these incredible young people.

This documentary deserves public recognition for it's personal informative approach.
This series really needs to be broadcast on TV and in schools.

Thank you for keeping it real and honest

Patricia

well...

Are we going to get to see the last episode of my address? maybe it will be up this sunday?

Thank you very much for doing this.

First of all my hat off to Kate Moennig and the rest of the crew involved in this project, thank you very much for tackling this difficult, and unfortunately in this day and age still daring, issue. Thanks for being compassionate and creative, and of course much credit to the shelter for being there for the homeless youth! I really hope that the people featured in these series are on the chart or at least have a chance to read all the comments, and I wish them all the very best.
I just wanted to emphasize what some of the commentators have also touched upon. Your true family isn’t necessarily the one related to you by blood, but the people who choose to be compassionate towards you regardless of how society at large determines to define you. Diversity, I personally believe, exists, at least on a spiritual level, for the purpose of raising people’s awareness and to promote tolerance, it is a testing the capability to be compassionate.
Any judgment (which is not the same as discernment) is passed in error, and formed out of fear. Any parent rejecting their children does so out of the fear of not having been able to be a good parent. And most of us would like to deny our fears and cover them up with self-righteousness (the only “important voice” we seem to think we have), which manifests always as anger.
It is a most difficult but necessary process to recognize this and form at least some sympathy for your parents’ imperfections, no matter how cruel they seemed. I don’t mean to accept their cruelty (as right), but to realize that the reason for their behavior is that they have at some point in their lives been judged and rejected for whoever they were and are simply incapable of being forgiving!
The more issues are brought out in the open the more people will come to realize we are all suffering from this burden of judgment and un-acceptance which makes us feel so alienated, whether it’s concerning sexual orientation, gender discrimination in general, nationalities or races, and everything in between. The denial of our insecurities perpetuates ignorance and fuels the desire to avenge and divide people.
All life is energy, which can be flowed with smoothly, or resisted violently. I really think that’s all there is to any notion of what people perceive to be God. So Nicole and all the others, bless your hearts and good luck from a fellow homeless person, (or as I prefer to call it, rent-less).

can't wait for it

kate you're a god

It is tuesday already and I

It is tuesday already and I thought the last one was supposed to be posted this past sunday?? what happened?

Wow

Kate, this is fabulous work you are doing. I live in a rural community in the Bible-belt. As an activist I see this situation more times than I would like to count. The kids have to hide to meet--it's really sad. There are only a few "safe" places for these teens to go and be with others without worrying about anything, much less basics like food and shelter. I'm so thankful that there are others working to address this problem and bring awareness to society as a whole.

blessings and namaste,
Gypsy

And it harm none, it shall be done

Thanks

a real thank you Kate to let us know.

i wrote with the episode one that i thought that there wasn't a sort of HMI in France and actually i'm wrong. I saw the other day on the Tv that there is an association "Le Refuge" in Montpellier (in south of france), and it's like HMI.

Heartbreaking & Inspiring!

Kate,
Thank you so much for taking part in doing this project. We need more documentaries like this to help bring awareness of homelessness for not only the LGBT community but for all children and teens. When I was twelve I moved out of my parent’s house and was lucky my grandmother took me in. I have been extremely fortunate that she has always supported me in everything that I do. I can’t even begin to imagine what these people have gone through being kicked out on the street from such a young age just because of their sexuality. Their strength and determination to just be who they are has really inspired me. Major kudos for those of you who have taken the time to tell you stories and everyone involved in the making of this project!!

Bummer... I was looking

Bummer... I was looking forward to viewing the final part of this series tonight. It is Sunday nights this is posted, isn't it?

"Peeper" -- Alice Pieszecki, January 8, 2006

.

Yeah, I wanted to see it too during my lunch break.

quite sad....

its really sad when people who are not affected by us in any way act out in such harsh and ignorant ways. Like when those people murdered the trans just because they were trans. Alls anyone has to do is not talk to us. Whatever happend to "live and let live" eh who knows. All i know is that your doing an amazing thing by helping these kids and the world needs more people like you.. or frankly to stop being so irrational about things in which they do not understand...
anyways thanks again your a great inspiration

Crash

Kate, You said that family

Kate,
You said that family instability is a common thread among the people who end up homeless. I was lucky enough to be adopted as a baby into a wonderful home. I was raised in a southern baptist church and have just started feeling a some peace with being a lesbian. When the girl in part 3 told her story I felt like she was pulling my words out of me...giving me a little more peace. Thank you for that. And thank you for raising awareness for homeless gay youth.

:)

yeah...im gonna help kids like this someday soon

Porltand OR

HMI looks totally amazing. In Portland Oregon we have had the SMYRC drop in center for ten years, doing similar things to what is done in NYC. The memorial wall in the video brought me to tears, as we have one here too for youth who have touched us deeply and have passed away.... On the flip side I know that just by providing the services we provide, we have saved hundreds of LGBTQ youth's lives. Come visit us anytime.

that´s a great piece of

that´s a great piece of work,...moving!

so supportive in the north :)

i watched every episode and i am so supportive of the whole project and if you guys need ANY help for any more, hey talk to me!! i definitely want to be a part of it any way i can because its something i stand behind. its hard to feel affection for another human being of the same gender and not have everyone think you are not normal. katherine i honestly admire you and i think you did the project so humbly and you weren't trying to act like a huge superstar, {you never really seem too] you were honestly on their level trying to understand and really feel the situation and your smile lights up my world because no one else is really taking a lot of time to get into the nitty gritty that nobody wants to see...but it is a reality and i definitely think about you and what your doing and its an inspiration to do similar things in canada...see what one thing like that can do?....don't worry, keep up what you're doing and i'm positive lives will change. ps. katherine your amazingly beautiful without makeup in your natural self:).

yeh right

yeh right i've been wondering about helping the angels
i'm gonna check out those links for more info.
pleasingly they all looked shining brightly in the final coming up
i think every episode itself helps them
i'm very happy for that

and i do agree with you in your ps

Oh my, this is tough...

This espisode is so tough... I mean, all of them are tough but this one... I'm an activist for the LBGTQ cause in Spain, and I swear, you hear bad things, but not at this level... It's just that, wow I'm really starting to apreciate the people who are around me, and the great luck I've had...

Things like this make me question where humanity has gone. And it assures me that we still have a whole lot to fight for.

Congratulations for this project Katherine... it's just great that someone, who has some importance in the media, stands up to tell the world what is really happening in their marevellous cities...

Thanks, and to all of you, just keep fighting, one of these days, we'll change the world.

Kisses,

Pol

This is life

I think that anyone who has the privilege of a supportive and undrestanding family should be greatful for it. Some of us have not had a family who would love us no matter what but SO WHAT?
I enjoy these videos and learn from these videos and grow stronger by whatching each episode but i never ever feel sorry or sad or even cry. I love their characters and i know for a fact that everything good or bad that they have been through has made them what they are today. And that makes me proud and makes me hold my head up high as a small part of this community. And i thank everyone who is involed in this project and everyone who has made it possible for us to have this great opportunity including Dear Kate.

Thank you Leilani for doing this video.

We start kissing and we can't stop kissing!

touched home a little

Murder and violence against the LGBT community is so underestimated. A very good friend of mine was found beaten almost completely to death in one of the alleys in downtown Tucson near by a local gay bar.Click here for article He is very lucky to be alive. So when I hear stories of people effected by or those who have experienced descriminatory violence, it touches home a little for me. Take a stand people, and stop the violence!
-Amanda Panda-

Awareness

This is great that people can become more aware of gay youth homelessness and the struggles that GLBT youth face.

wow

what an eye opener.
amazing documentary.

one love

it's a shame we live in a world where so many of us r made 2 feel like we must hide who we really r in order 2 fit society's idea of "normal." props 2 leilani 4 being herself. molds r 4 jello, not people. we, as human beings, need 2 celebrate our diversity while never 4getting that, on the inside, we r all the same.

this kind of visibility is

this kind of visibility is so important great job with all of the episodes there awesome

wow!!!!!

i loved watching every1 of these i come from england and dont really see the gay homeless side where i come from its a real eye opener and a touching story THANX FOR BRINGING THIS TO LIGHT !!!! xxx

if you want to admire

if you want to admire someone..admire the people who are struggling with this kind of stuff. i can't begin to understand what its like to be kicked out of my home, or beaten just for being gay, bi, or transgender. i didn't grow up in a religious or conventional family. so i consider myself to be lucky and i am grateful everyday for that. but it breaks my heart to know that thats not always the case for everyone. and although watching these episodes makes me sad, i know the importance that they carry. so rock on..

-Kris10

LGBT COMMUNITYS......

Ang Galing!

"Ang Galing!" in my language means that this project is awesome, brilliant, amazing! I do hope that a future where people are more understanding of the situation of gays, lesbians, bi and transgender kids and adults alike will be a reality. It's really hard to be an "individual". It is truly hard to be who you are in this world without the fear of being "killed" (literally and figuratively). Miss Kate, you are truly doing a good deed, by giving a voice to these kids who have so much to say.

ABSOLUTELY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ABSOLUTELY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh God my Kate!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh God my Kate!!!!!!!!!!!

Babes what words are there,........ You are something else, lady,....... really you are.
Kate, my heart is filled with so many emotions, & some anger for these kids, these civilised human beings, 'cos that's what they are, thru' gender stigma this is how they are being forced to survive, 'cos you can hardly call it `living'. Nichole & Leilani, can't imagine the lives they have, which they have had to get on with, until you,... my angel & treasure, gave them a voice. I'm struggling to find words here, which is unusual for me,LOL!,....... Kate I just love you so much. What celebrity would take a film crew & produce something like this? MAJOR PROPS TO YOU, GIGI & YOUR FABULOUS TEAM!!!!!!

Kate I'm so going to miss this, I'm going to miss hearing what these amazing folks have to say, & seeing how gorgeous you were to them. I don't think they will forget you Kate,...I'm betting that you have left your mark. You do anyway, but, babe, you have COMPLETELY excelled yourself here. I HATE there only being 1 more episode, that sucks BIG time!!!!! Jesus, that has gone over SSOO fuckin' quick.

Well Kate, I love you ENORMOUSLY, I admire you for using your `celebrity' in this way & TOTALLY respect you for who you are, I DO HOPE 200% these people, who are the future, have been given a future because of you, Gigi & your team. Turning the key in the padlock, opening a once sealed door & letting these people BE HEARD!!!!!!!!

Kate you are one-of-a-kind,

Di from England. oxoxoxoxooxo

KATE+SARAH=HOT!!
Sharmen Revives & Lives 4ever!!

So completely & utterly agree with you.

So completely & utterly agree with you, every word. This has been an exceptional series, & Kate has pulled out the stops for sure!!!!

I love Kate so bad!!

Not just GLBT

I just wanted to say that it's not just GLBT kids and teens that get kickt out of their homes and I don't think that only GLBT kids should be supported.(although I think it is terrific that there are ppl out there helping them) Every child/teenager deserves a chance to make something out of their lifes. What I've realized lately is that one single person can make a Huge difference to the world but most people don't realize this and think "What can I do, I'm just one person" and just forget about the problem.
Try and discover your potecial.
A big Thank You to everyone out there who are helping others.

Awesome

as always. Great project. Great Hearts. Great People.

Moving

moving as always xx
