It's been awhile since I've posted an interview from our show, The Agenda, and this one was worth bringing it back. I'm sure many of you have heard about the new show in New York --
The Beebo Brinker Chronicles.
This play is based on six pulp novels from the 50s and 60s that have become part of lesbian cultural history. The books were written by Ann Bannon and adapted to the stage by Kate Moira Ryan and Linda Chapman, who talked to producer Michael Cole and I Monday night. It was a wonderful exchange, so take a listen.

The one thing that struck me
The one thing that struck me is the two playwrights talking about how hard it was back then as compared to now and made a point of mentioning people who lose their jobs because they're gay, etc. - but all of the examples they used are things that do still happen today. I think the difference is that it's not that it's not happening but rather it's not looked upon as quite as socially acceptable to fag-bash as it once was. Just ask Isaiah Washington.
great interview
looks like the play's extended through this weekend - i'll definitely try and catch it before it's gone.
I love Beebo Brinker!
I have the original book by Ann Bannon and I love it! It os the ultimate lesbian pulp fiction in my opinion!
