The Secret Ingredient: Episode 503

In honor of Bette's icy plunge (and perhaps in tribute to "Nina's" episode 501 dykequiri)
Ilene's pouring up some frozen strawberry daiquiris and spilling behind-the-scenes gossip on Episode 503, Lady Of The Lake.
The REAL Ingredients: Frozen Strawberry Daiquiris
2 oz light rum
1 1/2 oz lime juice
5 fresh strawberries, sliced
1 tsp sugar
1 cup crushed ice
Combine all ingredients in an electric blender and blend at a low speed for five seconds, then blend at a high speed until firm. Pour contents into a champagne flute, top with a cut strawberry, and serve.

I think that it is ridiculous that just because maybe Bette and Tina wont get back together this season, you guys threaten to sell your dvds and quit watching the show! I mean I am a Bette and Jodi fan, but it's not like I am not going to buy the 5th season if Bette and Tina do get back together. It's a show people! Like it for what it is and what good comes out of it! Give the actors their support like true fans!!! Dont be so close minded!!!

You use words like "ridiculous" and "close minded" - strong words to describe something you don't understand. If you don't understand, wouldn't it be better to lay off using such judgemental language?
If you are going to buy the 5th season regardless of whether Bette and Jodi remain together, well, good for you.
But I don't think it is your place to tell others how to spend their money nor how to show their support nor how to receive the show.
You don't understand. Why? Simple. Because you are not a Tibetter.

I am not telling you how to spend your money! I think that it's rude to threaten people like Ilene to get what you want!! Support the cast and crew they work hard for you and everyone else such as myself which I greatly appreciate :)

You know nothing about my life..
I decide to buy DVDs just in the case I like something. And, so, I won't buy S5 if there's nothing I really like.
That doesn't mean that I don't like the show, but the other stories represent something I can watch just one time, you know, and it's enough for me.
A different case is for Bette and Tina, because when I see them together I never stop dreaming.

I was so happy when I heard Ilene utter the words that Helena would be back better then ever. After watching that last episode my heart flew to my throat and I thought it would never come down. I absolutely love Helena, and who would have thought you could ever love her from the time that we first saw her on screen. That character has grown so much, and became such a real person.
I do agree that she did become a little weak, but I can't wait to see her when she gets back. Although...OMG...512...booo I'm going to missssss her. I can't complain because at least we'll get to see her again unlike other characters who have vanished into thin air. What the hell happened to Papi??
The Charlie's Angels spoof was one of the funniest things TLW has ever done. I could not stop laughing at that scene, and even had my mom re-watch it because I knew she would think it was funny as well...which she did. I can't say enough about that scene, and the gals did an amazing job acting like the old CAs. HAHA Loved it. Felt like the old LW too.
Although I'm a Dana/ Alice shipper for life, (yes I know Dana isn't on the show anymore) I can totally feel where you Tibette peeps are coming from. I was saddened by their split and would like nothing more to see them back together. I do honestly feel bad for Jody, but I just don't think those two fit. Both gals could do better for themselves.
Also, does not the plot line of Tasha make you wanna jump up and join a protest against Don't Ask Don't Tell? That girl's story has me tearing up. I'm totally against war and such, but then you get to see how much the military means to these people. It's her whole life. :(
PS: I love Alice, but what the hell is up with the way she talks to Max about Transgendered people? So not cool and so not my Alice. :( Maybe I just refuse to look at her character flaws. I just didn't think Alice would be so closed minded like that.

OMG there was nothing better than Holland taylor's prison run way walk and what she said to the prisoner who propositioned her.....I bet she would serve it up family style! Nummy! ;)

That's definitely the same chick Dana even say's something about her training with Lucia...which happens to be the girl who plays Dusty name in real life...plus that was back in season 2 and she looks more toned now anyway...trust me, that's the same woman..

First of all, excuse my unperfect english, cuz I'm just a lil frenchy gal !
I don't think these two are the same person, cuz Dusty's hair seems to be naturally straight, whereas the other one has frizzy hair, and I don't think they could have straightened it that way, cuz they sometimes do it on Helena, who has curly hair, and it often looks average...
Moreover the kickboxer has a really round shaped face, whereas Dusty's face seems to be... like sculptured.
However they kinda got the same body, so they could be the same person, with an awesome brushing and some weight lost...
Could anyone precise in which episode (from season 2, I guess) we can see that girl ?
Wish fulfillment
This has to refer to Tibette reunion this season. There is no louder voice nor bigger shout in the TLW universe than the angst driven desire of Tibette fans for Bette and Tina to be reunited. If this is not what you, Ilene, are referring to, please come clean and be honest about it.
Wish fulfillment cannot refer to Dana because she is dead and we know Erin is not in S5. It can't refer to Carmen because Sarah has been on another show. It can't refer to Senator Grisham because Dana is also on another show. It can't refer to Dylan because Alex is not signed up for S5.
It can't refer to Jenny lost at sea somewhere because she is back with a vengeance. It can't refer to Max going off to SF because he is now doing the podcast. It can't refer to Jodi incapacitated by her drills because we see that she continues to grind Bette to fit her mold.
So where does this leave us? Nothing short of a sweet Tibette reunion, stronger, sexier, more forever than before. Do you know how many fans are parched dry for Tibette love? Do you know how many watch your show only for Tibette? Do you know how many give S3 and S4 DVDs a miss because of what you did to Tibette?
So, I hope when you said wish fulfillment, you are talking about Bette and Tina reunited. And pleeasse, not some half baked dalliance of some sort that you think will mute the clamouring but a full complete and mature reunion of two human beings who have the greatest fortune to find true love in each other and whom I have the greatest pleasure to watch.

Hi - I'm btfan2 - I've been off the boards for awhile so its kinda like new and fresh again. I had to get off, get away and get over all of it.
I'm beyond being a hard core TiBetter - can't even put a catagory on my TiBette-ness. Dosn't matter anyway.
Loved your post. I'm back because I'm seeing some really poistive signs of TiBette but; I'm watching with my heart in my throat, my hand on the remote my senses vacillating between bountiful joy and emotional disaster.
I have to say I'm seeing some real positives. I just renewed showtime which I cut off in a fit of anger(end of season 4- the Tractor!!!). Swore I would not watch until TiBette are back together. All the signs are there, all the opportunity is in place and I'm going with my gut that it will happen and I don't want to miss one micro second of the journey.
I also reason if I'm wrong - I'll live and the dissapointment will be short lived - I don't see a season 6 on the horizon(which if they do reunite will be a shame if not a blessing)

and watch the show only for bette and tina....i hated season 3 ....you have to go on messages boards
and listen very different peoples,especially straights girls about bette and tina ...i don't know why you want to sell matlin's carp kissing ,she is not a A list actress and you got a diamond with JB and LH ....

Did not see that coming
I had no idea Helena was going to be leaving! I was so upset after the episode, but thank you, Ilene, for letting us know that she'll be back. Helena has been through a lot of character changes, and I think a lot of it does have to do with the fact that the writers didn't have a firm grasp of who she was from the beginning. After Dana died, I feel like they tried to pass on some of the quirkiness that Dana had on to Helena to provide for some more comic relief. While Erin Daniels can never be replaced, Rachel has definitely gotten better at the comedy.
The problem is that Helena became significantly weaker in the process. Yes, she got her money taken away, but compare how much power and control she had when she was first introduced (as a counter to Bette) to now, when she sometimes is just bumbling around not knowing what to do with herself. She has more inner strength than that, and I hope when they bring her back that we'll see a Helena that's more in control of her life. That scene of her walking confidently through the prison yard making deals was awesome. THAT is the Helena we want to see.

I have to say I enjoyed this episode a little more than the first two, but can we get on with it already?
Some interesting, well-acted Bette and Jodi scenes in this episode. Jennifer Beals' facial expressions continue to amuse -- the Eric Fischl scene rocked! JB does seething contempt so well, and I think we got a glimpse of the old Bette Porter for a second with that final line to Michelangelo.

not to sound like a weirdo, but has anyone else noted that shanes hands typically go low,(i.e. waist) when she kisses? most women, Ive noted, seem to bring their hands to the other persons, upper areas more when they kiss.(i.e. shoulder, neck, head) I noticed this when I first started watching the show. shane goes high sometimes, but most of the time low... I am such a weirdo... I notice weird shit.

yeah, in this particular photo she is a little higher than waist with one arm, but seeing her arms below helena's arms reminded me of other occasions where she doesnt put her hands above the shoulders as often as below... and alot on the waist. she likes kissing without using her hands the whole time in alot of instances too(in my weirdo observations), I guess you end up using your body language more in kisses w/o hands???(no, Im not just talking about the Too Hot segment either, though that was cool) I cant say Ive really done that alot.

i've seen season 2, according to my weak observation :), Shane used the hands on the hips if she wants to drive someone toward the table,bed or etc, and when she isnt near the table,bed or etc, she will put her hand on the waist,mostly ( thats only based on my poor and weak research last couple days!! LOL), funny in season 2 episode 13 Shane put the hands on Carmen's hip but she wasnt succes drive carmen in to the bed, bcoz carmen take Shane's hand!!and they both falling into the bed LOL!!! I have to do a lot of research here !!:), anyway i love this technique, i've got to try it a lot!!
