I hope you’ve been enjoying season 5 of
The L Word. Judging from the comments and conversations that have been going on here at OurChart, we’ve at least given you plenty to talk about. It’s a lot of fun hearing what you all have to say. Of course we love the love, but we also totally dig the ranting and the raging and the controversy. I will admit that I’m a little sad
Ripley’s so pissed off she’s bailing on us, and I don’t know why
Dee Dee always anticipates the worst–honey, sometimes good things happen to good people.
Rovermom is a welcome bastion providing fair-minded equanimity, and I’m hoping
Rusty will apply some more Shakespearian dramaturgical analysis to our lesbian melodrama.
In any event, we’re bringing you
this advance streaming of episode 508, “
Lay Down The Law,” written by
Alex Kondracke and directed by
Leslie Libman and featuring our special guest star–the wonderful
Kelly McGillis–by way of saying yet again that we really cherish this community we are all together creating here on OurChart. In the next five weeks–the last weeks of season 5 of
The L Word–we’ll be unveiling more new programming and features than ever before. As you may know,
Gigi Nicolas has joined us as our in-house filmmaker and video programmer, to bring you original video content and all around good entertainment. Check back for new shows we’ll be rolling out over the course of the rest of the year while we prepare (we hope) for season 6 of
The L Word. And we are stoked that our great friend
Grace Moon is bringing her talent and relationships and experience as well as her fierce, feisty voice and sensibility and her tales of intrepid sexual, social and cultural adventuring to OurChart. I, for one, am learning something new every day.
I hope you’ve checked out Leah Beckingham’s “
Body Work.” I can vouch for the fact that Leah has helped certain women I know and love to work wonders with their own bodies. (Sarah Shahi, Sarah Shahi, Sarah Shahi...Need I say more?)
Sometime soon, Jennifer B. and I will be bringing a new, interactive project to OurChart. We’re excited about it, and we hope that some of you will be moved to take part. And we hope others of you will join us for our upcoming parties and events. Kate and Leisha and I will be doing
Be Scene again at the Dinah, with our beloved Alexandra Hedison returning as emcee and new
L Word cast member Elizabeth Keener joining the judging panel. And to those of you who still feel the need to vent over some
L Word storyline or character beat or hairstyle or article of clothing–maybe you’ll join us for a
FYKE!

Tina and Bette's love life...
Please Ilene, don't send Tina and Bette to a therapist about their sex life again. Every sex scene looks like they have a pretty damn good sex life to me. These two may have some problems but sex is not one of them. Beside Angelica, let this be one thing in their relationship that they get right. Yes, they been together for along time and they don't have sex as much as they would like, but that's any relationship. These two enjoy sex together. Season six lets keep it hot with Tina and Bette.
P.S. still pulling for a season 7,8,9......
Love to see next season
I would love to see next season is, Max gets pregnant by Tom, that would be so crazy. what happens after that idk, but just her getting prgnant would be awsome.
A shout out to all networks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Please, Please, Please, someone pick up the L Word after season six! I am into the show more now then ever. The writing has gotten more sassy, sexy, brilliant, funny, sad, and happier then ever. I just can't understand the business end of all this. Why would you end a show that is so well loved all across the globe, that has so many loyal fans. If I was a big network like Showtime, I would be riding this cash cow all the way to the bank. But not just from a money stand point, the story lines that have touched so many peoples lives is all the reason to keep the L Word on past 6 season. Give us 7, 8, 9......seasons. Jennifer and Laurel have brought such tremendous attention to the show with their relationship......people have just fallen in love and in lust with them. And Alice, our funny girl, she is so cute and makes us laugh all the time. This is like ending the superbowl 1/2 way through the game! We need this show to finish all the way through the game, and this game is not over!!!!!!
merci!!!
I like season 5 of the L word. I'd see it on the net, because the French TV had show the season 3, et don't want "diffuse" the season 4 and 5.
I'm a fan really.
The french music in the episode are very delicious (the carla bruni's song at the end of the season is top "fisrt lady of france now"..... the LGBT rights in france...)
Thanks so mutch.
Elise
Season 5
Season 5 has been the best season yet. I have to say season one was really hot to. Watching Tina and Bette try to get pregnant. I also like when Tina finds out Bette cheats. Laurel deserves an Emmy. She looked so angry and upset slapping Bette then having sex with her. That whole scene was unforgettable! Jennifer must took some good wacks for that scene. I love the scene where they make love after they breakup and Tina is pregnant. HOT HOT HOT. These two together can make their own show. Tibette Show. How about that??? These two actresses have so much chemistry on screen. You just fall in love with them. I want to see them get married but no more children. I really wish Ilene and us get a Season 7 (8,9,10). I am not sure what's the issues if the show just does not have the numbers or actresses have other obligations, but it's ashame because this Show is genious. It deserves more seasons. I hope a miracle happens and we get more seasons. Ilene has done a fabulous job, keep up the good work and don't give up the fight!!
Jenny is hilarious!!! I love
Jenny is hilarious!!! I love her with all my heart, she's the most interesting character ever. HEr bitchiness is likable, and especially when she's with Nikki I cannot imagine anyone being more sympathetic!
Just let her stay in love with Nikki, keep them together, shoot MANY steamingly hot love scenes, and there's not going to be any reason to complain about Jenny's character ;)
She kept all the laughs coming ins season 5- we have to thank Nikki for that :D
Ilene ..
KILL JENNY ALREADY!
The money I pay for cable, I shouldn't get my L-Word lust time used up wid dat crazy bitch! I HATE the character - always have - and I don't care a shit for the actress either. I was on the computer and could hear her voice in a movie and I was ready to puke! She always sounds like a melodramatic C-rate actress from the 50s. I hate her speech pattern and her ugly-assed outfits. She always looks like she ran ... at top speed ... through a friggin' closet. Everything bad that she gets, she deserves and I can't wait for her to be mysterioulsly impaled on Dawn Denbo. They'd make a perfect couple ... like a fly on shit!
On the other hand, I love the Tasha character. I love her personality and the script for her. Tasha is the perfect mouthpiece for our community to voice its disdain of the Don't Ask, Don't Tell assininity of a law that keeps us as second class citizens. And Rose is the perfect choice to make Tasha real. The character and the actress are welcome additions to the L-Word fan family because Tasha is a vibrant, strong individual who challenges Alice. The chemistry between them is wonderful to watch: they each give the other as much as they take. They are attracted to each other ... and are hot for us to watch on that damned floor ... and they challenge each other all the time [and that's hot too!]
Alice is sexier this season than ever before ...I think the long hair makes a big difference visually ... and she is more focused in her career and love choice. She's still sharp as a wit but she's also more insightful too. She was the perfect blade to cut the military prosecutor's neck! A true Touchstone!
I love Bette ... no matter what she does ... or who she does it with [except Jodie] ... and ESPECIALLY when she's lusty. I don't care who calls it cheating ... I call it HOT! Loved her going after the New York hottie ... and the carpenter ... because she was a "sex machine". [Yes, Ms. Beals!] Now that Tina has had her years of personal makeovers, namely the Helena sex freak and other lovers, I'm glad that she's proving herself to be less of the wimp and more of the the strong woman, the rock, that Bette was always seeking. They've got chemistry and my favourite love scenes have been when they've been it together. In the bedroom, in the kitchen, in the ELEVATOR(???) [Nice fantasy job there, lady!]
Sorry, but there's no part of Jodie that is visually attractive with Bette on screen: there's no chemistry in the love scenes. I love her script because she always comes over as strong-willed and independent. The speech pattern is sometimes distracting but it makes me think that our frustration as hearing people could never match that of our deaf brother and sisters who want to be heard in the world. I truly commend you for having a hearing-impaired character in the show.
I also commend you for including Max, a character in transition. Max as a person I truly like and I think it was time we gays and lesbians dealt with the transgendered topic. We had to see that we too discriminate against them, if not in action, in thought.
Jodie, Max and Tasha is money well-spent for me and they are three of the best characters you've added. Having represented my native country in a sport and been a P.E. teacher for 14 years, I'm so damned glad you got rid of Dana, the scrawniest athlete I'd ever had the displeasure of watching jog or hit a tennis ball. Martina must have cringed! [HEY! Why don't you get her as to do a blog for us?]
I agree with someone's post that you took too long to really show some good strap-on sex for a change ... not that I care to see Jenny the recipient. Enough of the finger fucking alone; we are more diverse in our sexual practices than that and need to have that part of our lives explored, complete with the liquid K-Y in the side table. [Next time, put one on Bette please when she's with Tina on their first night living together again. I need that fantasy fulfilled] I love Max's "sexploration" too because it makes things interesting to watch. Loved the scene with her girlfriend going down on her.
If the 6th season is the last, DON'T CHANGE SHANE! She works for the show ... and apparently for a lot of paying fans out there. They love her honest personality and her libido. As long as she's single, they'll believe they're next in line!
Would love it if you'd bring Ivan back in town for Kit to have a dildo to play with rather than a gun. We miss Helena and would love to see her in action some more with her cellmate. Maybe they could pick up Papi on the way so she could come kick Denbo and Adelle's asses.
One more thing: Please give us some more diverse lesbians with different careers. Wanna see some visually challenging women who don't wear the same sized clothing. [NO! NOT ROSIE!] Wanna hear some different accents or just anything to add colour and sound the way Sandra Bernhard added vocabulary to the script [We had a lot of fun with that on the Showtime forums!].
Thank you for this wonderfully addictive show and this spin-off website where women get to interact with each other! You've helped a lot of women of all ages by doing these two great things.
KEEP TALICE TOGETHER, THEY ARE THE BEST!
This was a great episode. I LOVE how Tasha proclaimed her love for Alice and left the military. IC this was a very impt story to tell and I am glad Rose portrayed it in such and amazcing way. Please keep her around fo season 6!And I love Talice. I love their chemistry. I love their contrast. I love how deeply they love eachother. They have been through ALOT these past 2 seasons, so in season 6 can we please have them be happy for once? They are such a good balance.Alice brings out Tasha's fun side and Tasha grounds Alice, so please IC, don't breal this amazing couple up.Some couples can be monogamous! It happens!
Tasha & Alice
They do make the perfect pair. I hope they stay together forever.
Live your life and have fun doing it!!
u guys rock
I was pls 2 see tosha spoke up about her feelings. u no its hard enough coming out to the world and ur self the army needs a wake up call as for shane yeah she loves a challenge
which makes her character different. but i have not seen anyone take her cookies since sexy carmen lol! bette needs to get a grip because tina is playn the field now and i feel bette might lose some one that took a chance with her! jenny needs someone to rock her world to come back to earth peace keep up the good work!
Thanks for the 508 Viewing!
Thanks so much for running this on Our Chart! I played this over several times in the last 2 weeks.
I love that Tasha stood up for her love with Alice at the end. I thought the "look" Kelly McGinnis' character gave the naked woman in the locker room was great. Face it - that's real behavior! It was the perfect clue to where this prosecuting attorney was coming from!
As for Bette and Tina, what can I say...Yes I want to see them back together again, but showing the growth they've experienced in their time apart. I believe Laurel and Jennifer can bring a whole new dimension to their characters as individuals and in their relationship in a way that will remain exciting and great viewing. Would like to see Jody stick around - will she be getting a new love? I like her sassiness, as well as her genuine qualities!
I, too, hope Showtime gives you the go-ahead to season 6. They would be nuts not to! Looking forward to participating more on Our Chart. This is a great forum and I appreciate your invitation for feedback from the viewers. I am particularly proud of the fact that the success of The L Word has spoken very strongly to the unique manner in which women approach leadership and working as a collective creative team. You have shown the world, Ilene, that your (our) method of working where everyone is valued for their contribution, is a true success pattern. I hope they get the message!
How does one send you recommendations for music for future shows?
What's the name of this song?
The L word has much improved. I don't know the reason for this sudden and exciting turn of events but the storylines seem a lot more solid and entertaining. From Shanes unrequited straight-girl lust, to Jenny's doomed love affair, to Bette and Tina's heart stopping excruciating scenes together, suddenly I love it all.
Another thing I suddenly love is the music on the show. The choices of songs that accompany the scenes are really great now. but better than the cheesy horrible music of old. One song in particular has haunted me ever since I watched episode 6.
It's the song that played when Bette and Tina first made love. I was struck by how odd the song sounded and found myself really listening to the words and now I love it. I found out who the artist was, Joan Armatrading, but I don't know the name of the song so I can't find it any where.
If anyone knows the name plz let me know. Thanks soo much :)
peace and here's hoping for a season six!!!
*edited to say I've found it! Beautiful, beautiful song. I am now officially a Joan Armatrading fan thanks to the L word
Joan's song
"Love and Affection"
What do you mean hope?!
The L Word is way to hot for there not to be a season 6. I mean seriously if Showtime were to say that this was the last season or something silly like that I think they would have a serious lesbian uprising not to mention the few straighties I have roped into watching it with me.
Now onto the fun part...I don't like Shane with Molly because Molly is straight and lets face it; if Shane were to hook up with her and be faithful to Molly like most straighties gone gay, Molly would break Shane's heart by sleeping with her ex-boyfriend or something dramatic like that. The whole Bette and Tina thing has to come to a head. Bette can't lead herself on and she certainly can't do it to Jodi since Jodi gave up her "non-settling for one person" kind of life. I especially like Bette's comment about not leading a good example for Angelica but I still think she copped out. I think she should have just told Tina what she really meant..."I love you and don't want to break Jodi's heart and I miss my family all together."
Yeah for Tasha! The military has to get over this whole idea that we homosexuals don't believe in our country enough to fight for it or that we just aren't competent enough.
Holy Crap if Max doesn't make someone realize soon just how bajiggity that crazy assistent is soon I don't think Jenny's movie is going to be made. Oh speaking of Jenny...nice love bites on Jenny and Nikki's necks. Very authentic looking but also pretty dang representative of our curious lesbian ways lol.
Ok but this is what I really want to know. What happened to Helena and her girl?
netters :D
Offended by Locker Room Scene
When Kelly McGillis's character looked the naked girl up and down in the locker room I was totally offended. In my opinion, this scene just reinforces why the military thinks they are justified in having their anti-gay policies in the first place. No one wants to have to think about being sexually exploited while at their job like that. It was a real perv thing to do and not at all representative of what it's like to be in active military duty in close locker quarters with other females as a lesbian. I also have a serious problem with Alice being the supporting character in Tasha's story. Sometimes I get a little frustrated when The L Word brings on new characters and then gives them the majority of the hour. Between Jenny's new girlfriend, her crazy assistant, Jodie, Cybill Shepherd, Cybill Shepard's daughter, and Tasha I hardly saw any of the actual lead cast members at all this episode. I think the additional characters should be there to propel the main characters story lines only - not the other way around. I love the new girls but the original cast members are always going to be my favorites!
Ditto KTCOVELL
I'm just sayin'.....
Don't say it's over...
I love the military story line! Please say Tasha will battle for her job because of this fundamental injustice. She can change the world I just know it!
Glad Tasha won
Despite all the shit Alice did, Tasha still came out on top. glad she stood for something and was true to who she is. Maybe the real military should see this episode
the military, tasha, and...
i'm such a peacenik and non-violence person. the military for me is a difficult, painful stretch, even in a showtime character. i am soo opposed to the whole state-sanctioned violence/murder bit, that with womyn soldiers...i just cannot go there...and i struggle.
i'm old and "back in the day" we used to talk about how different it all would be "if womyn ran the world." and here, we struggle for equality and it seems that, too often, we want to be the same as men in all of their roles.
as a liberal Xan and social justice advocate, i struggle with those who go on and on about what faith a candidate practices. Obama: Muslim or UCC-Xan? (or as we used to say in seminary about UCC's: Unitarians Considering Christ.. I take the John Dear SJ approach that a Xan would not, could not be the chief commander of a military, not to mention all the other US violence, economic and otherwise.
So I guess I wish Tasha had "converted" over to CODEPINK or something....
which, in my opinion, would be wonderful: to see CODEPINKers in The L Word, takin on the world, one action at a time

yay for alice and tasha
My favorite part of this episode was the end with Tasha and Alice. I love them together. I never thought i would like Alice with anyone besides Dana but Tasha is amazing. ( I would still love for Dana to come back somehow or to be people's spiritual guidances or whatever, but that will probably never happen =[ ).
Well anyways i think that shane and molly together is really cute!
Also Bette and Tina are in love with each other, they have to stop dancing around their emotions and lay them out for each other and i hope therapy will help them do this.
And Jenny... Am i the only one who absolutely loves her character? I think she is so funny. She's a bitch and needs a reality check, but every time she comes on the screen I can't help but laugh at the things she says and does.
All in all, great episode as always.
Peace&Love
???
i kinda like the whole tina/bette/jodi thing i thought they were boring together bette and tina... jennys actin like a diva i dont like that but i do like her with nikki there cute and nikki's hott!!!... wheres max been he doesnt have very many lines??? i dont like jenny's asst. she sucks but theres always gotta be drama lol... i didnt think i would like shane with any one else besides carmen but i like her with molly i think its cute! molly is a bitch I LIKE THAT. but we shouldnt get use to it becuz you know she'll be fuckin sum one else in the next scene lol... i realy like alice with tasha there great together i think. i wrote this with my lover cindy lol...
the l word fan!
YAY! *Fists in the air!
I LOVED it! The end was perfect...I love Alice and Tasha together! Alice definitely looked the part of a soldiers wife with her hair and clothes. YAY! This was my favorite thing so far this season. I'm hoping that Alice will be so happy now that she and Max can find a common ground. She is so lame to him, and she is not lame by character...so I can feel it comin'.
Jenny bugs! Adele bugs more!
Bette and Tina...yes please!
Shane and Molly...whatever...eventually Shane will have to return to her ways but it might be fun to watch her try a shot at a real relationship.
and um...hairdressers are hot and hickies...are NOT!
24 more hours...
...and I'll finally be able to watch this with captions. Funny how a show with at least one deaf character can be posted on-line without this option.
L WORD ON MY MIND......................
I find myself trying to think things out and it never happens that way. I hope to see Bette and Tina finally breaking down in Dan's office after laying everything out on the table. And hopefully the " I LOVE YOU'S " will come out. Although on the other hand, I wonder how long it will take for them to be a couple again. Has anybody seen the clip of Bette and Jodie playing around outside at the pool? Jodie finally ask Bette, what was wrong. I wonder what episode that will be. I hope Bette and Tina's reunion will be before the last episode.
Dawn Bimbo..... I saw her in a Lay's potato chip commerical today and she wasnt with lover Cindy. lol.....
Shane and Molly will be intresting. Im sure they will get it on. But it might be a painful wait for Shane.
I wonder where Alice and Tasha will take us. I miss the funny Alice, like she was in S4. That was the funniest season I think. This season seems to be more serious. There just has to be a S6, because there has to be a wedding with Tibette. I can see it in my mind. Alice and Shane loosing the rings. Bette and Tina running late. It would be nice to see Bette and Tina doing some funny sences. Seeing them laugh together would be wonderful.
Bette & Tina
I don’t know what kind of reaction this post is going to get but I have been thinking about this for a while. I am having a really hard time deciding if this is the right time for Bette and Tina to get back together. I don't want to see two people who are so much in love; destroy each other for the third time. Tina had to leave Bette after she cheated. She had just had the second artificial insemination and knew she was pregnant. That was a hell of a slap in the face. During Season 2 everyone in the group except Bette knew Tina was pregnant. She was so sure Tina was gaining weight because she missed her so much that she was truly shocked. It was hilarious when Jenny confirmed it, and Bette went off the deep end at how the joke was on her, she is the biggest fool, must be from some other planet, etc, etc. There have been plenty of bitch slaps back and forth between the two for the past four seasons. When Bette called Tina at the end of last season and asked her what was wrong with her that she ruined every relationship, Tina finally had the guts to tell her she was controlling, the world revolved around her, Bette's problems were the most important thing, how mean and cruel she was, even though Tina allowed that to happen to her. The last episode of season 4 showed Bette doing everything it took to get Jodi to come back, even though Shane and Alice both told her that Tina still loved her. Bette said "no, she is trying to help me get Jodi back." She forced it out of her mind, her impulsive mission to go get Jodi never gave her a chance to think about what she already knew. She tried during her meditation retreat before she met Jodi, but Bette does not self analyze well. The last four years that Bette and Tina have been apart, there has never been another woman who could bring the soft loving interior out of Bette other than Tina. Bette is so very insecure, and Tina is her rock. It took a long time for her to admit that to herself. Bette only shows her tough exterior, which as hard as Jodi has tried, she can't chip away and get to the real Bette. You would think that Jodi and Bette would be good together. Jodi is an acclaimed artist, an intellectual, much more like Bette than Tina is. It is true that Bette is extremely cruel to her lovers. Alice even made that remark to Bette after their short fling about her cruelty, but she lashes out when she is hurt. She has done the same thing to Jodi over and over. The scene at Jenny's party when she demanded that Jodi leave because she was flirting, and that girl was all over her was an overreaction to the Bev character asking her some very personal questions about what makes her sabotage everything good in her life. Bette has been desperately trying to find another "Tina" in every woman she has been with. She has never been able to let go of Tina. She can't get her out of her head or her heart. The only time she really smiles is when she is with Tina. I think out of the two, Tina is the only one who has been alone long enough to know what she really wants, and how to make this a true partnership. Tina had to grow up because she let Bette control her life. Jodi will never satisfy that need for security in Bette, only Tina has been able to get inside and let Bette be herself. Bette is so stubborn that even when Tina said to her, "I made a mistake letting you go", Bette could not let her back in, she had to keep punishing her, even though Tina is the only one in her heart. The only other person who gets to Bette's soft interior is Angie. When Tina came by and saw Bette cooking, during their conversation Bette said she cooks for Angie so it feels like a family, and then she gave Tina that look of deep longing. When Tina told her to turn around that look on Bette’s face said it all. That is all Bette wants. Obviously, both Bette and Kit did not get what they needed from their father and mothers. Kit drank to ease her pain; Bette is controlling and hides her real self. This time it is Tina pursuing Bette. This is very different from the Tina of old. Bette just cannot tell her how she really feels, even mouthing the words "I love you" after their night together at Tina's. The night at SheBar, when Tina told her "this is so not my scene" Bette was still too stubborn to tell her how she felt. When Tina got no reaction from Bette and got up to leave, Bette could no longer hold it in. She started crying during their kiss, which blew me away because that is the first time Bette has been able to express those overwhelming feelings of want, need and love, without a word. Can Bette accept the role of equal in this relationship? She has always been the alpha female, but Tina has been through enough trials and tribulations during the last four years, that she has also become an alpha female. I know what I want to see if they get back together. It has to be the most passionate, loving, life long relationship that it was always meant to be. They needed to go out in the world, and find out there was no one else that makes them feel the way they do when they are together. When two people feel like this about each other, it is impossible for anyone else to fulfill their deepest desires. Bette‘s control freak nature still scares Tina, even though she wants no one else but Bette. I don't want them to get back together to destroy each other again, and this time their child will be in the middle. It is so obvious they have an extraordinary love. I don't think either one can ever let go, especially with Angie tying them together for life. This is the type of love that everyone on the earth hopes to find. If the writers do decide to put them together, I hope it is with the intention that these two women, who love each other, can't love anyone else, don't want anyone else, make it work. It has to be the coming together of true life partners and their child, and create the family unit they both need. If not they should remain friends, and walk away. Shane said it the best, “There’s something really wrong when God lets two people who are meant to be together come apart like that.” I agree Shane.
Awesome breakdown!
There's a lot happening in this show. There might even be a thing or two to learn/realize from watching it...plus the hot babes eye-candy, sweeet! :) Peace, Jodie
Seriously
Is it ever a painful wait for Shane?
just little thanks
ilene, live is better with people like u around;please,do what u do best, write and direct wonderfull stories;i am so glad that i am here in your lifetime
Another thank you
It has been so interesting watching the first five seasons of TLW. What is the most interesting is the coming together of a community; our community. Yes, these are fictional characters we have become so invested in, but they are ours and we love them all.
Don’t all of you feel connected to each other? Whether you just watch the program, listen to the podcasts or get involved in online discussions, it is so nice to be involved, other then reading other online discussions that you really have no investment in and, therefore, no desire to join in the conversation.
When TLW first started Our Chart, it looked rather silly, but when you realize it was created more for connection to each other; not primarily sexual.
When I read some of the posts and blogs, it fascinates me that we discuss all of TLW characters as if they are real and not fictional. I am so invested in Bette and Tina; that I find myself yelling at the TV. An incident comes to mind about season 5 (Lunar Cycle). When Bette gave in to Jodie and let her kiss her, I was screaming NOOOOOOOO! Something tells me there were quite a few screams around the world at that moment. But it is just one of the amazing ways this show has affected us so deeply. I have to congratulate JB and LH for convincing us those love scenes are real. They make you forget it is choreographed and cameras are all around. I must say their love scenes are what have made them one of the favorite couples of so many of us. These actresses have a chemistry that works so well and are beautiful towards each other. It seems so real and deeply touching. I thank them for that.
As far as season 6, remember there are only 8 shows. Some of the posts I have read are asking for plot lines that will just take too long to develop. I hope they spend the 8 shows developing the relationships and how deeply these actresses (not characters) feel for each other. I’m sure the writers can do this in a loving way. The only plot line I can see developing is Shane and Jenny. I truly believe during season 5, Loyal and True; Jenny was talking about Shane, when she said; “there is someone I’m madly in love with.” If this is the case, Shane is also going to decide how much she has loved this woman over the years. That’s the story of season 6 and I so hope it happens.
Ilene, DO NOT create trauma between Bette and Tina. Have them explore their relationship and all the problems they have had and let them have beautiful love scenes. Please keep Bette soft and Tina strong. There are so many of us invested in these two, we won’t be able to accept anything less.
One more thing I would like to reveal. Since I have become a part of this connected community, I even look at my straight friends in a different way. I see their flaws and understand why. I accept them now for who they are and appreciate our differences. I cannot believe how TLW has changed me so much for the better. There has never been a vehicle to discuss our personal lives, other then with close friends and now there is. May we continue even when our girls are gone.
OH WOW
YAY, I so would have quit watching if Alice and Tasha would have ended for good. No prolly not but man Alice deserves to be happy she been through so much! and I am so fucking glad that she can once again be happy! Alice has got to be one of my favs. and she has a way of bringing out the best in ppl and its just fucking awesome she is just fucking awesome and The L Word is the best show ever!!! LOVE IT!!!! Leave Alice and Tasha alone and let them be happy! And as far as being happy goes I have to say I actually liked Jenny in the 1st season and then I did not like her for a long time but PLEASE let the chick be ok. I like Jenny in love! Thats great. Have no input on Bette and Tina I love them both and want them both to be happy with whomever they are happy with I don't think it would be the same if they were back together and HEY I kinda like Jodi. Lets see what else! LOL um SHANE oh lord let me get on Shane! ok 1st off I loved Carmen shame that did not work. But Paige..... come on now, what was not to love. Shame shame... Happiness is a wayside flower growing upon the highways of usefulness
508 from my point of view
I am so freakin sick of the character of Jenny, the whole movie thing, and that assistant of hers. I haven't liked ANY of her storylines since the end of season 1 and truly thought my wishes were granted when she "disappeared" at the end of last season. Ilene.....please end the madness.
Bette/Tina/Jodie...Everyone, or at least most, want Bette back with Tina. Will this "dilemma" of yes/no/give me time/jealousy continue? Probably. Just make it happen already.
Alice/Tasha.....BRAVO Ilene. Simply put, I haven't enjoyed watching someone with Alice since Dana died, THANK YOU for the character of Tasha. They are beyond good together, no matter if it's the disagreements, the fights, the loving, everything. Well Done!
The She-bar.....burn it down already and move on.
Loved 508
Ok my first post here!
It was awesome to see 508 yesterday! It's hard waiting a week between episodes and those hiatus are frustrating.
Anyway, I'm a Shane fan so I spend most of my time with my eye on her. What can I say? She does it 4 me and I could watch a show JUST about SHANE! Every word that comes out of her mouth gets my attention. Personally I think I need to see her more often and in longer sex moments. I'd also like to see her more involved in foreplay. I miss Sharmen because there were some really awesome moments with them and I hope Shane and Molly get together and have some really hot yet tender moments. I love their chemistry so far and the chasing game was cute. I'm a sucker for lusty moments. I love watching Shane but I'm picky as to whom she is with. Sorry, didn't like Paige with her. This epy showed me some great moments with Molly and I really hope we get a great ship with those two. I like seeing Shane fall in love even though I also like her sexual prowess. The girl's a turn on. MORE SHANE sex and longer PLEASE Ilene!
So sick of the Bette/Tina/Jodi triangle. Lets move on please! That dinner party was painful and couldn't wait for it to end.
Love Alice! What can I say. The girl's funny! Not crazy about her new ship. Oh well.
Hate Jenny this year but she's cute with Nicki! OMG Nicki is amazingly hot! Love looking at her body!
Want to kill Adele! That's all I can say there.
I noticed Kelly M aged a whole lot since Top Gun! Wow. She played the part well here though. Wished she'd been caught though!...lol...
Umm...Can Shane have her own show too on Showtime? *Slurps* DAMN that girl's got my attention! *sighs*
Can't wait to see what happens in 509! More Shane sex I hope. I know, I'm terrible. *snickers*
adelle what can i say?
adelle what can i say? sneaky sneaky....everytime i think i know what her motive is when she does the things she does, she throws me a curveball
and how ECSTATIC am i to see the reunion of tasha and alice!!! they have become my new favorite couple :D
niki's hot...that is all lol
and poor jenny...she cant catch a break :( niki's too childish for her...they're hot together in the bed but cold everywhere else..

508.........
what can i say??? i just too interest in Shane n Molly story!!!! Its so funny when Molly argue with her mom about Shane! :):). Shane really like Molly, but afraid that Molly could be the one who break Shane's heart :(.
And Molly kissed Shane and she stop at the right time (LOL, shane's face so cute when molly suddenly stop the kiss :):)!!!!
And Nikki........she so naive, Adelle really use her , and poor Jenny!!!!!!!!!

Suggestions for Future Seasons
Hi to all the crew,
I'd like to say that this season is amazing. I like what you are all doing, that's great.
If I had to suggest something : keep it that way ! :D
Bette and Tina, first and most important thing. You cannot imagine how people are excited about their reunion. It's all what we can think about (tibetters):p. I like Jodi, but not with Bette. Tina's the only one. One last and forever.
Alice is funny as always, full of life, stunning. I like her, and her relationship with Tasha is very interesting.
These 4 people (Bette, I mean... BETTE !, Tina, Alice and Tasha) my favorite characters, the reason I watch the show.
It's been a great season so far, and I'm enjoying every part of it.
So, my recommendation for season 6 (Let's hope that there will be 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 seasons ! :D
Keep the fun
Keep the love between you know who :)
Keep the Music
Keep Jenny ! What a weirdo, but I like it !
THANKS FOR EVERTHING ! :D

Suggestions for Future Seasons
I do agree with Ripley in a lot of what she says, although I understand how difficult it is to create a show. But I think there can definitely be some corrections for the future.
I don't need one character to dominate the screen time, but I would agree that there is quite a bit of time wasted on shots like "glass doors and stairs for 65 seconds." I am an editor and have seen several instances in the show where some shots are just too long and some stories just not as interesting as others (for the time they are given).
Bette and Tina are old hat. We've been hearing about their on/off relationship/sexual tension for four seasons now and it's just not interesting anymore. I like Tina; I like Bette; but they're stuck in the constantly annoying states of depression that enveloped all of seasons 2, 3, and 4. I don't think I've seen Bette smile for . . . I don't know how long. But that frown might start sticking permanently if something's not done soon.
Generally, however, the other plots seem to be more uplifting. That is what I like about this season. Now we can see people who actually have happiness in there lives along with the struggles. It is no longer a soap opera, but a real show. Additionally, it helps the audience understand why all of the stories are even being told. In seasons 2, 3, and 4, none of the characters really even seemed to be friends. There was no friendship development but then we would randomly find out that people like Shane and Jenny are apparently best friends. (Why would Jenny know that Shane hadn't finished high school, but Alice wouldn't? Haven't Shane and Alice been friends longer? And better friends at that?)
I do love the plot so far with Molly and Shane. It is nice to see Shane actually developing a relatively healthy relationship with someone and not jumping into bed with any vagina she sees. That's fun every once in a while, but in season two, it was so clear that she was struggling about that part of herself and wanted something more. Are we still holding out for Carmen? I think not, but someone would be nice. Even the family element of Shay is completely forgotten and it's like she got nothing from the last three years of her life.
Additionally, Leisha Hailey is an excellent and diverse actress, so it is great to finally get to see her stretching out her acting muscles. I really feel like she holds the show together and has, by far, the best acting ability. Props to her. In general I feel that the whole cast is getting better.
I'm liking season five enough, but there could be several scenes shortened, including the sex scenes. Yeah, we all like to see it, but only if there's meaning behind it. I remember Kate Moennig saying in interviews that she didn't mind doing sex scenes if they weren't gratuitous, but I feel like almost ALL the sex in season five is gratuitous. I suppose we could all just go watch porn if that's what we wanted. Give us a bit more meaningful of a plot and we will be happy, I think.
I just have to say...
As a teenager living in a world lacking of acceptance it's been hard to accept myself as a lesbian. I'd have to say this show has probably saved my life... as tacky as that may sound. It gives me hope for my future and it's helped me see how normal I actually am, I'm not strange, I'm not gross, I'm normal with a twist :).
I see characters like Bette and Tina and I feel like, wow, now there's a pair of attractive, successful, intelligent lesbian women, and then i say, I want that and I can possibly get that with some effort.
The L Word has helped me accept myself and it's most definitely helped me nudge my way out of the closet.
Basically, thank you for creating such a fabulous, insightful, and affective television show. It's made me a happier individual. :)

L Word Junkie
Regretfully,I never even heard of the L Word until a couple of Episodes into Season 4. However, after watching, needless to say, I was hooked and immediately bought seasons 1-3 to catch up. I have been an adoring fan ever since.....Ilene is simply brilliant!!!!!! I wish I could put it more eloquently, but you(Ilene)are most defiantly 'DA SHIT'...LOL...I have enjoyed this season most of all; The movie within a movie is exceptional and there are not enough words to describe the amazing & talented actors on this show......It is truly groundbreaking!!!!
You don't realize how long 7 days are until you become a Lword Fan, very proud to say I am one. Hoping there is a season 6,7,8,ect....and now I've stumbled across the vast Lword website, in which, I've found you can spend endless amount of time between blogs, threads, deleted scenes, interviews, ect...
The L had me at 'Pilot', and at this point we (the fans) would pay the actors out of our own pockets to keep this show on air.
The issues addressed, political, social, ect.. are well represented and I'm positive that everyone who has viewed this show can at one time in their life identify with a character, a relationship, or issue on this show gay or straight! PROUD TO BE HOOKED.........
If 7 days seems long...
Another L Word junkie here...The 7 days isn't so bad, it's the 9 months between seasons that I don't like. I hope my cancelling Showtime between seasons will prompt the network to give us more good gay/lesbian programming to go throughout the year.

here here!!
that's what i am hoping will happen too because I do the same thing!
