Erin Daniels really needs to be in AT LEAST one episode in the final season...its the right thing to do since Dana is one of the most loved characters of the entire series and it broke mine and many other people's hearts when she was killed off.
I don't think it would be right if the series ended without an appearance from Dana. I don't even care if it's as some corny ghost or whatever, I just think Erin should be able to come back for one last episode before the series ends.
Dana really needs to come back since the show will no longer be picked up after the 2009 episodes. Bring them all back once more for old time sake. Even if it is as a ghost.
I've mentioned this before, but I still think it could work.
Devote an episode where everyone is together at TIBETTE's place and they recall how they all met and became friends.
This would create a great opportunity to bring Erin Daniels back for an episode. I don't know how else they could do it.
Oliviathree-- If you recall, the Framily talked about how some of them had met Dana, during their trek to the waterfall with her ashes, so I doubt that IC would do another version of it (though your idea is appealing!)Another way to bring her back--if Erin's available-- would be to have Alice run into Dana's "doppelganger", someone who looks exactly like her, but has a totally different personality. That way, Alice would have to deal with and evaluate the immediate attraction she feels toward this new person (who in reality is NOT Dana ) and sort out her feelings toward Tasha.
I'm game for anyhting that would get Dana back ito the show.

God, I miss Dana! I can't describe how mutch I creid when she died. OMG! I cried for DAYS! She was my favourite at that time! And then they took her off??? I'm still not over that!! What was Dana in 4.12 Long Time Coming? Was she a ghost, Alice's imagination, or is Alice going crazy? We haven't seen her since then and Alice is like it ever happened. So Erin came back but what was she?
Dana came back as a ghost. Because Alice felt that she was loosing her lover (Tasha) So Dana came back as a ghost to remind her to get her ass out there and life is short lmaoo and she was like geez you're cussing more than ever. lmao aw i missed her too. I think so too that killing Dana off was a mistake.
When the scene opens, Alice is laying on the couch with her right hand up behind her head. She could be sleeping and dreaming this, or she could be laying there just contemplating her feelings about Tasha and the going away party. In any case she was wishing she had Dana to talk to. Did you notice that as the scene closes, Dana assumes the exact same position that Alice had at the opening of the scene. This is an indication that Dana was actually part of Alice.
Remember the words from the song that played in episode 311, when they spread Dana's ashes…

I also appreciate and applaude the writers for the storyline, and I admire Erin and the cast(especially Kate and Leisha) for the amazing and wonderful job they did, BUT, why kill Dana?! :(
They could tell the story of a woman who finds out to be sick, and fights against the illness and at the end survives!!
They chose to have not a happy ending.. and we lost our Dana and Erin for ever.. :((

But I loved Dana's breast cancer storyline. Don't get me wrong: I was heartbroken to lose both Dana and Erin from the show, but I think it enhanced the storyline. I, for one, was shocked when Dana died. I hadn't been online for a few weeks and had no clue that was coming. I just assumed Dana would be sick for a while, but that she'd eventually recover and become a spokesperson for breast cancer awareness. When I watched the last few minutes of Losing the Light, I was in awe. Dana's death was a true surprise to me and I was very moved by how it was portrayed. I miss Dana...SO, so much. But I think her arc in season 3 was the best storyline of the series and I appreciate that the writers took such a risk.
I was really shocked too when Dana died. My wifey has warned me, that she saw that Dana was in the hospital on a swedish tv-channel, and she might die.. But I didn't believe it.
And then.. I still remember that evening very well when it happened.. It had been a great day, and I was glad that I could relax and watch the L-word, and saw Alice in the hospital with Dana. And then, suddenly.. *DANG*
She was gone. I remember that I just said "Oh no..", and then I started to cry. And god, I cried. Dana's death touched me very deeply. I really miss her character and Erin.. =(
I was thinking that you guys(at least american ones) watched the first episode of new season last night.., and I don't wanna know anything about it :p and even if I didn't watch it and I still have to wait, I feel a "weird sadness" because I already know that a new season won't bring back Dana.. I don't want her as a ghost,etc, I'd like to have our Dana back, our AMAZING ERIN, and even if I'm excited for the fifth season and for the other characters, there's just this feeling that reminds me that HER CHARACTER is dead.. :(
